Some people are capable of bringing Sexy back - but there are others who chase Sexy down, destroy it, and insure that it will NEVER return. These are some of the latter.

I was a boy when I heard three red words
a thousand Frenchmen died in the streets
for: Liberty, Equality, Fraternity--I asked
why men die for words.
I was older; men with mustaches, sideburns,
lilacs, told me the high golden words are:
Mother, Home, and Heaven--other older men with
face decorations said: God, Duty, Immortality
--they sang these threes slow from deep lungs.
Years ticked off their say-so on the great clocks
of doom and damnation, soup, and nuts: meteors flashed
their say-so: and out of great Russia came three
dusky syllables workmen took guns and went out to die
for: Bread, Peace, Land.
And I met a marine of the U.S.A., a leatherneck with a girl on his knee
for a memory in ports circling the earth and he said: Tell me how to say
three things and I always get by--gimme a plate of ham and eggs--how
much--and--do you love me, kid?
Mrs. Maxine Pad (above) has decided to "go green" this year. "Maxi" (which is what everyone calls her) realizes that every little bit helps when it comes to the environment - and it's time she did her part.

As Memorial Day weekend approached, I would like to extend an extremely stiff salute to all the men and women of the Armed Services. Ok - my salute is a little stiffer for the MENZ, but we honor and celebrate the brave women who serve our country as well. Thank you for all you do.

I have featured model/actor Deric Mickens on the blog before, but today I actually saw him in person. Deric was talking to a friend on Waverly Place this afternoon when I walked past, and he is absolutely GORGEOUS in person.
I have been sick as a dog for the past week, which is really preventing me from getting myself together so I can move this weekend. It was so bad yesterday that I left work at noon, came home and slept all day and night.
The ONE interesting thing about me being sick has been the BIZARRE dreams I've been having. I don't know what they put in CVS cold medicine, but it's trippy...
I recommend it highly.
Here is my plan: finish packing tonight/all day Friday (taking day off)/all day Saturday. And then on Sunday I'll try to find a "Man with a Van" to help me move my crap to Queens.
This means that you won't be hearing from me for a few days. Hopefully the next time I post, I'll be a resident of Astoria, Queens.

It's Fleet Week here in NYC - that magical time when drunken sailors and marines wander around Times Square looking for trouble and us New Yorkers help them find it. God Bless America...
Such sad and horrible pictures coming out of the Gulf Coast (via Boston.com)...
Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress - specifically Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe (below) - is blocking a bill which would raise the corporate liability caps from 75 million to 10 billion for similar spills. Because huge corporations should be able to endanger our environment with little or no risk. SOURCE.

... just take Exit 16W off the New Jersey Turnpike and head into the Meadowlands parking lot.
Yep, New York/New Jersey will host the 2014 Super Bowl in an OUTDOOR stadium. Dress warmly...
