City Council Speaker (and out Lesbian) Christine Quinn, NY Governor David Patterson, and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Grand Marshall and transsexual actress Candis Cayne (Dirty Sexy Money). Candis moved to NYC at about the same time I did, and I remember seeing HIM (yes, him) at Boybar, and buying gum from him when he worked as a cigarette boy at Roxy.
Some of these photos are beautiful, as well as many of the subjects! Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteTranny...I love the last photo...in the back, on the right...the guyin the leather....he is FIERCE!!! He is totally working that leather!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of fun....whenever we have a parade around here, it's all rednecks driving their cars, women with no teeth...that kind of thing...BORING!!!

So nice that Laura Bush could make it! (pic #1)
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures! It looked like a great time. I'd love to visit New York for this event...I do love a celebration!
ReplyDeleteI think I need a shirt that says, "It's SULU, Bitches!"
Tres fab!!!
ReplyDeleteMark :-)
I think Michael Musto would be happy to know that someone else remembers Candis Cayne's earlier occupation. These were great photos (that beat the pants off of what I got on my camera), and it makes me want to travel and visit different Pride Parades every year.
ReplyDeleteSailor - that's how I remembered Candis being at Roxy, by reading it on Musto's blog. The cigarette "girls" weren't officially allowed to sell gum (the club didn't want gum sticking to the carpeted floors), but Candis always had some bootleg gum stashed away for sale.
