I hate that fat phobia is somehow OK in our culture. I really hate it. Its weird because people will make fat jokes around me now - and it just kills me. I almost always burst the fat joke bubble by saying I used to be obese..
Can't help but think of the huge mountain women we have in Western Maine. Their men love them to pieces and they are practically matriarchs. Remember Hawaiian queens were dearly beloved and expected to become huge. H kneaded their stomaches to make room for more. when they died, their husbands maimed themselves in grief. WE are the weird culture it seems.
