Jack Mackenroth Does Condom Couture

My "friend" (see HERE) Jack Mackenroth - of Project Runway fame - will unveil a wedding dress made completely from condoms this week to benefit San Francisco's Project Inform. Read the story from Queerty HERE. I was particularly disturbed by some of the hateful comments on the post - what do you think?

  1. Crabs in a bucket like my mama used to say. Some people just hate to see someone else achieve.

So much of fashion is just a reinterpretation of something that has been done previously. Whatever. It's the ability to take something old and make it into something new and different that makes a designer stand out in my mind these days.

(Yes, I am trying to reclaim my inner fashionista.)

  3. Dagny's crabs are very appropriate. ;)

Old school saying, opinions are like assholes because everybody's got one.

Of course, just because you have one doesn't mean you always have to go flashing it on Main Street.

  9. Yes, the comments were particularly bitchy.Bravo to you for speaking out. Your comment was hilarious. Jack's comment was very gracious and articulate. It takes some stones to be that nice in the face of hate. Go Jack! Can't wait to see the dress.

  11. Late as always. (me, that is)

LOL @ all of the above! dagny it is not every day that you hear/read someone say "I am trying to reclaim my inner fashionista." Excellent!

And Beth, I loves me some man juice as much as the next fella but I'm not sure I'd wear a dress made out of used condoms. It depends who used them, I guess . . . if it's my all time favorite white meat guy (#3?) from last week (or was it the week before?), oh hell yeah.

Not sure why we homos always feel the need the trash our own with such venom. It's UGLY. Not that we have to agree on everything, but getting bitchy for no reason should not be the default reaction. Bravo to David and Jack for bringing some civility to that post and making the haters look extra nasty.
