Which "Classic Dame" Are You?

I stole this from Kailyn's Creations. Find out which classic movie Dame you are by taking the Classic Dames Test HERE. Kailyn is a Barbara Stanwyck (above), and I am a...

Rosalind Russell (above)! This made my laugh hysterically, because my nickname within my gay gang in Central PA was/is "Mame" - inspired by the Rosalind Russell movie "Auntie Mame". Mistress Maddie (and others) still call me Mame to this day.

Take the test for yourself, and report back which Dame YOU are.

    JOAN CRAWFORD!

You are one tough dame, as tough as they come. You've had to fight long and hard to get where you are, but you always knew you'd do whatever you had to do to get ahead. You aren't above committing crimes (or seducing others to do them for you) to get what you want. You want to be happy and comfortable, but you usually always manage to get the fuzzy end of the lollipop. Even your kids are usually against you. Your leading men include anyone you set your sights on, even married guys that are never seen on-screen. Watch your back.

  3. We're soul sisters. I too am Rosalind Russell, with a 52% wit score. I would have guessed Katharine Hepburn.

  4. I took it twice. The first time I turned out Joan Crawford, which is just SO not right seeing as I'm a huge Bette Davis fan. So I retook it, changed most of the answers and became Rosalind Russell. Now that's a classic dame I can live being! (Sorry to copy cat you!)

This is a great one...and of course I took both. for me Hepburn and Jimmy stewart. (yet couldn't imagine the two of them together.) did I see you post yourself as the leading man role?

You are class itself, the calm, confident "perfect woman." Men turn and look at you admiringly as you walk down the street, and even your rivals have a grudging respect for you. You always know the right thing to say, do and, of course, wear. You can take charge of a situation when things get out of hand, and you're a great help to your partner even if they don't immediately see or know it. You are one classy dame. Your screen partners include William Powell and Cary Grant, you little simmerpot, you.

    Katharine Hepburn
You are the fabulously quirky and independent woman of character. You go your own way, follow your own drummer, take your own lead. You stand head and shoulders next to your partner, but you are perfectly willing and able to stand alone. Others might be more classically beautiful or conventionally woman-like, but you possess a more fundamental common sense and off-kilter charm, making interesting men fall at your feet. You can pick them up or leave them there as you see fit. You share the screen with the likes of Spencer Tracy and Cary Grant, thinking men who like strong women.

While I absolutely adore Norma Shearer (who probably wasn't an option), I can be completely happy being Katherine. Really I can.

  15. Joan Crawford....

Yes, I have padded (fabulously) hangers, killer brows and I am before I drank the Mommy KoolAid was enamored with my mean and evil side....

I so want to be Auntie Mame instead- I think I am well on my way.... I aspire to that moving couch and fab chandelier....

  18. I'm surprised I'm the first Bette Davis!

You scored 31% grit, 29% wit, 24% flair, and 40% class!

[Note to HelloQuizzy: That adds up to 124%]

Those figures translate into the 83rd percentile of grit, 61st percentile of wit, 11th percentile of flair (ouch!), and the 81st percentile of class. (I'll take it.)

You're one smart cookie, and you know it. You also know how to let everyone else in on the deal. You've worked hard to get where you are, and sometimes you might not have played fair. You are ruthless but charming, and the light of intelligence sparkles in your eyes. When cornered, you can and will act, but you'd rather have things go your way and live a life of ease and comfort. It's not a great idea to cross you; you will run the competition down like a rabbit, and leave them wondering what hit them. Your leading men include Errol Flynn and Paul Henreid, men who like a feisty gal with a touch of class.

@chef - LOL!! "Even your kids are usually against you."
