  3. Wow. I'm flying in to LGA tomorrow!

Not that there's a good day for this to happen, but today's so cold!!!

At least the plane looks like it's intact; could've been worse!

  4. Greetings from Seattle. USAir was headed here after Charlotte. Scary! God Bless New Yorkers! This was the place to have it happen. YOU know how to handle it with your great spirit. Salute to all the rescuers!

  5. I saw this on the news. Thank goodness all of the passengers are OK. I thought about how cold it is, too. The air is frigidly cold but if they were in the water! Yikes!!

  6. Sounds like everyone is OK - such good news!

Fortunately most of us never see it but the bulk of the airline crews' training is safety-related. Once on a UA flight out of Charlotte (coincidentally), someone thought the smoke from the engines starting meant they were on fire. They yelled "fire" and as soon as the FAs heard that the airplane was on fire they totally swung into action. It was actually quite impressive and fortunately a false alrm.

[The passenger that douchebag Brian Williams just interviewed ("Jeff") sounded totally hot.]
