Did anyone see RuPaul's Drag Race last night? I am fighting a cold and trying to prepare for the arrival of the Mistress Maddie, her Boy Toy, and Dust Bunny Kailyn this weekend - so I didn't have time to take notes and write a proper recap. But here are some thoughts off the top of my head:
Akashia (below) annoys me to no end. She is lazy and evil - and has had to "lip synch for her life" at the end of both episodes. Bitch is lucky her lips work so well.
You KNOW when Ru introduced "one of Destiny's legendary Children", they were all hoping it was Beyonce (especially Akashia). But Michelle Williams (below) was absolutely adorable.
Nina Flowers is growing on me. I don't normally like androgenous drag, but Boy Nina (AKA Jorge Flores - below) has such an adorable Papi accent that I can't help but love him. Plus, he's kinda hot with all his tattoos.
So far they have gotten rid of the Fat Girl (Victoria Parker) and the Weird Girl (Tammie Brown). This show is more like High School than I thought it would be.
What did the BunnyNation think of the show? If you haven't seen it yet, you can watch online HERE.
>P, b.
Tammie needed to go
ReplyDeleteTammie gave up and didn't learn the song and seemed sort of ready to sashay. She still creeps me out.
ReplyDeleteThe non-tucking Ongina was cute. She's growing on me. That mamel-toe comment about her hot pants was funny.
I still don't have all their names straight (no pun intended) but a couple of them are gorgeous!! They were on the winning team.
Funny line from Ru about how she'd cry if she didn't have so much botox in her face.
I love this show!!
Good luck getting ready for the honored guests!!
ReplyDeleteLove you! Love your cleaning! (I SO identify, but it would take me a month of constant work!)
xoxoxoxoxoxoxox
Akashia needs to do some crunches. If you're going to keep wearing mid drift shirts, don't have a flabby stomach.
ReplyDeleteI did watch, and tend to agree with you. It is more like high school than I thought it would be, with the 'odd ones' being sent home right away. Frankly, I could tire of it if this continues.
ReplyDeleteAkashia was terrible for most of the show, and it annoyed me she escaped once again. Tammie saw the writing on the wall, and was tired of it all, so I don't blame her for giving up. She was not my favorite, but after doing a great job with the costumes and doing okay with the show, the fact there was no discussion bugs me. Obviously, if you get the right song to lip synch, you don't have to worry about the rest of the show.
I did think Michelle Williams was quite adorable and sweet, until the crying at the end - a tad over the top for me.
I really was hoping that Tammie would last. She and Victoria are a lot closer to my drag queen world than the other female illustionists/impersonators.
ReplyDeleteTammie could have at LEAST used one of the oldest lip syncing tricks in the book by mouthing the words "watermelon watermelon watermelon" during the drag-off.
Show us where they're living!!! I want to see how many empty bottles of Absolut are laying around.
i am catching up now, starting w/ ep one. so far, my faves are nina (who i voted for on mistress b's site) and rebecca... they are soooo hot outside of drag, ESP rebecca OMG. i want to bite her lips to see if they're real, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love the tatts!
ReplyDeleteI watched it, and was really disappointed that Tammie got sent home. Akashia is a bitter, erogant, desperate person who bullied all her teammates. SHE should have been sent home. Poor Tammie was so beat down by the end that she was just 'over it' and ret-ta-go.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep watching, but my two favorites have been the first two to be sent home, so my enthusiasm is starting to wain.
Just reading your first recap, Tammie freaked me right the hell out! Like Hatchetface in Crybaby. So I'm kinda glad she got the boot. But Victoria seemed awfully cute. Of course, I can't watch the show, so what the hell do I know?
ReplyDeleteThe show is more entertaining than I thought it would be. Im still routing for Shannel or Nina Flowers to win. I think Tammies style was nice but she herself was a little creepy looking in the face.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for Tammie- she made a bad impression up front but she looked good in this challenge! I'm sorry she threw it in the end, but I think she was over the other biatches- they weren't nice to her.
ReplyDeleteIn drag, "I am what I am" is the mantra, and if you can't respect that, you should be required to turn in your wig!!! Eat that, Ugly Akashia!
I am stalking the boy from chicago.
