Miserable

I am wallowing in self-pity, misery, and blogging withdrawal. To make matters even worse, I found out this morning that I am now fatter than I've ever been - EVER. Life fucking sucks.

  2. I gained a bit too. It's tough right now.
Just remember that you are loved, no matter how much you weigh.

I'm going to buy my lottery ticket now. I'll get you a new computer if I win.

  3. Try not to be so hard on yourself. Focus on the things you want to change and make a commitment to it.
If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

  4. If you need a new computer, could you do your blogging from a smaller, cheaper notebook, or do you need/like to keep all the hardware & memory you already have? Just a suggestion.

Also, if you're feeling blue, just be mindful of what you eat and WHY you're eating it. It's cliche, but I often find myself eating because I'm stressed out rather than actually feeling hungry.

One step at a time, David.

  6. You are so loved, does that count for anything? Take a day to wallow and then figure out what needs to be done about the computer. We need you and selfishly we don't want to lose our daily dose of the Dust King. As for your weight, everyone puts on weight in the winter and begins to take it off for spring. Focus on that and the fact that the weather in NY is supposed to warm up soon so more walking outside. Later tater.

  7. Sweetheart, sadly we've all gained a few. It's ok. Summer is still a ways away. But whatever you do, DO NOT stop blogging. I just found you and I love it here! SMILE!

  8. Shhh. Don't be sad. Losing weight is hard. I have been trying for so long that it is just freaking crazy. And it makes me crazy. And it does feel like life sucks which makes you feel worse and fatter. On top of that it's darn cold again. But you know what. You are fantastic. Hang in there. Don't give up. Be happy with yourself right now. Because you are amazing, beautiful, talented and so very funny. Heck, I came by to say hi today! Now back to my own pity party :)

  12. Is this one of those instances when you need a slap upside the head or a big hug? Stand ready to give one or the other or both.

  13. Maybe you should make an appt. with your doctor. Tell him/her what you've been going through, and maybe they can help. Perhaps something to lighten your mood and help you lose weight? Its worth a try.

  16. David everyone here loves you so much!!! I run home from work everyday just because your wonderful blog or rather your wonderful personality that comes through on your blog is just a bright spot in my day. As for the weight, I'm battling too, but I take everday one step at a time. Some days I win, some days I lose, but everyday I am loved as are you!

  17. Take a deep breath, get a good nights sleep. Tomorrow is another day and it WILL be better.

  18. (in my best Cher imitation:) "SNAPOUTTAIT!"
You, with the love and support of the Bunny Nation can get through this! Overstock.com has refurb'd laptops for around $400 bucks- seems pretty reasonable. I'm not sure what else you use your 'puter for, but I'm sure it has enough juice to keep a blog up and running!
Long ago I said "screw the weight thing. It is what it is." I, personally, would rather be fat and happy than skinny and miserable! They don't call 'em "skinny bitches" for nothin'!
    Love ya!

  19. 1972 ... National Lampoon ... parody of Desiderata ... Deteriorata ... for some reason it came to mind and will perhaps be inspirational ... here is an excerpt:

Go placidly amidst the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof. Avoid quiet and passive persons, unless you are in need of sleep. Rotate your tires. Speak glowingly of those greater than yourself; and heed well their advice, even though they be turkeys. Know what to kiss - and when. Consider that two wrongs never make a right, but that three do. Wherever possible, put people on hold. Be comforted, that in the face of all irridity and disillusionment, and despite the changing fortunes of time, there is always a big future in computer maintenance.

(You are a fluke of the universe.
You have no right to be here.
Whether you can hear it or not,
The universe is laughing behind your back.)

  20. David, sweetie, we all love you no matter what. As several other of your loyal dust bunnies pointed out, it is almost impossible to lose weight in winter when you're in hibernation mode. Once the weather warms up we'll all start shedding our winter #s. A few 60 degree days will perk you right up.

And keep blogging because there are those of us out here who can't live without out daily dust.

    Lots of love,
    Min
