Lady CaCa: WTF???

I know I'm 41-years-old - but I just don't "get" Lady GaGa (or, as she is referred to on Dlisted, "Lady CaCa"). I will admit, Poker Face is a catchy little tune, but it contains such WTF-ish lyrics:

"Cause I'm bluffin' with my muffin. I'm not lying, I'm just stunnin' with my love-glue-gunnin'."

Is that a joke? What is that supposed to mean??

Also, Lady DooDoo has recently been seen on the streets carrying a teacup and saucer. Again, WTF?? I feel like I'm missing something here. Could one of you younger Gays fill me in on what's what?

  1. When I saw that headline I thought, "Oh no. I don't get her." and then I read your first line!

I think she is a stunt, plain and simple.

    Cup'n'saucer? Pffffft.

  2. Yeah I am 23 and I don't even get her. Her singles are catchy, but I am not about to add them to my play lists.

I think the persona she is trying to create is to be risque and sexy and outlandish, but all I get are no pants (cold!!), huge sunglasses (does she eve have eyes???), stupid bow hair (stupid.)...all of which i don't get the appeal of. Lady CaCa I agree.

If she is talking about her bits and pieces when having lyrics about her "muffin" than I am even more confused by them.

  3. She's all stunt. She was horrible on American idol a few weeks ago. She makes Brittney look like... I dunno... someone with a lot of talent!

  4. Is interesting to see how weird a celebrity has to get these days to garner attention. There aren't many options left...

  5. She mentioned somewhere that the song was about her dabbling in her bisexual side. So, its about her with another woman.

  9. Me no likee either. I kind of like "Just Dance", but her attempts to create an edgy public persona seem kind of desperate.

WTF with the lipstick? "Tee-hee - I'm a fuck doll!" Is that a turn-on for straight guys?

  10. I guess I am the ONLY one here who LOVES Lady Gaga! Just a little background for you guys...she was accepted into Tish School of Drama at the age (early enrollment) at the age of 17. Extremely artistic, dramatic, creatives, WRITES her own songs, and has penned songs for some of the most happening pop artists out right now. Madonna burst onto the scene over 25 years ago and was just as weird and now we herald her as the QUEEN OF POP. Lady Gaga is the 4th female in the HISTORY of pop music to have her FIRST two singles debut at number one. Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera are the only other artists to do that. The girl is young, talented and eccentric. Give her a chance, listen to her album before casting judgements. I think in an industry where we have so MANY of our young female artist TRYING to immulate and chase BEYONCE, Lady Gaga is a breath of fresh air. Maybe Im riding her a little too hard, but I love a left fielder who marches to their own drum. *Z snap

  11. She's just trying way too hard to be pop culturally relevant.

  14. I don't get her either.

I guess it's all about cultivating an edgy, artistic image.

But does her music match her image? It seems to me like it's maybe cute and catchy but not very original.

  15. you don't get lady gaga the same way lots of ppl didn't get madonna when she first hit the scene in the 80s. gaga is wild and i am obsessed.

oh and pokerface is about her fantasizing about a woman while f--king a man, hence the "bluffin w/ my muffin", LOL. if you listen to the lyrics in that context they make more sense.

  16. I believe she's got about 2 more minutes until her '15 minutes of fame' are up!

  17. I'm with the others who scream "Stunt!" I had never heard her until she was on Idol a while back, and after she sang, Ken and I looked at each other and said, "Yuck." Definitely not my cup of tea!

    Hugs, Beth

  20. Anyho, I luv this ho. She sang on So you think you can dance last summer, and I was hooked. Then I was fortunate enough to see her live in Vegas doing the House of Blues, This BIATCH IS MAD LIVE!!!From that moment forward I googled this ho extensively. She's more than a one trick poney. Writes, produces, and plays all her instruments. hell she even wrote a song on Britney new album. AND MOST IMPORTANT She's GAY FRIENDLY HO'S!!!!!!!!!When I'm needing to get moving on that fucking treadmill, I hook up the ipod and turn Just dance all the way up, and away I go. Tugboat style.
She kills me with her antics. DD give a ho a chance. As for the 15 minutes of fame? Really? Only time will tell. For my piece d'resistance--- I havent liked anything Madonna has done since Borderline, and lucky star. Now that's a one trick poney biatches, WTF was Ray of Light anyway? HATE ME Ho's

  22. If you're a fan of absurdism, iconoclasm and dada (hell, even if you know who Salvador Dali is) you'll appreciate what Gaga is doing and trying to create. If you're some MOR Taylor Swift-listening blandard, you won't.

She has a Rainer Maria Rilke quote tattoo on her arm, FFS!
