Adam Loses - Sandhurst Remains

Adam Lambert lost American Idol!! I was shocked - even though I didn't really follow the show, it was obvious when Adam and Kris sung side-by-side that Adam is WAY more talented. Let the "did he lose because he was gay?" debate begin...

In other news, although Tyson said Sandhurst (below) had "the body of a supermodel, but the face of an accountant" (oh SNAP!), Sandhurst remained on Make Me A Supermodel. Former Mennonite Salome was sent home.

  1. I felt Sandhurst needed to go. The clothes generally don't fit him right either and he is a one note fiddle in terms of his look, fine as it is. Salome did win the most photo shoots.

  2. I don't really follow AI either but I check out performances on youtube so I can skip all the fluff, and I must say I was not and Adam fan. I agree he has talent but I found him to be WAY to screechy when he went into his upper register and just couldn't handle it! I think he lost because he was too polarizing and all the Adam haters were able to finally vote against him.

I think it is the best case scenario for both though. this way Adam will definitely still get tons of press and a record deal (like Daughtry), while Kris can ride the wave of the winner and get a deal without being in the shadows of Adam.

  3. It was sad that Adam did not win. I not only followed, but blogged about the show, and Adam was incredible all season long. There was most certainly polarizing going on, much of it centered on his perceived sexuality, with veiled references like theatrical, too-Broadway, flamboyant... You know, we've heard them all.

  4. I just love Sandhurst, what a sweetheart! He doesn't come across as well on the shoots as he does speaking directly to the camera. He won't win and I'll miss him when he's gone. Lots of charm when he speaks.

  5. I have to disagree that Adam Lambert did not win because of his sexuality. He was by and far the most pimped contestant by the judges. I believe that Kris Allen won because people VOTED for him and not "against" Adam Lambert. Besides, in my book I'm glad Kris won and the reason is simple. I happen to like my men to sing like men.

  6. I have been and closeted AI fan since season two (shhh, don't tell anyone! AI loves an underdog and an upset! I think people believed Adam was going to make it big (like Daughtry) regardless of this final vote. This way Kris can also enjoy some fame he may not have accomplished on his own or if he was voted off several weeks ago. BTW I was pulling for Kris, such a sweet nice guy! Also I agree with polkadotoes, Adam was way too SCREECHY! Especially for the average American AI voter....

  7. I loved Adam and Kris on AI. Adam is the most talented male performer AI has ever had (in my opinion).

But I'm not sure how commercially successful he would be in selling CDs. I think Kris's voice is more suited for the mass public and that is why he won in the end.

Adam will still go on to huge success. As the past has shown with AI, it doesn't really matter who wins in the end. The top three usually go on to great success!! Adam will do the same. I bet he has multiple offers waiting for him this morning.

  8. Kris and Adam are both so talented, but I was really surprised when Kris won. Adam has such a great look and so much presence. I'm looking forward to seeing where his career goes from here.

  9. I followed Idol this season. I think it was more of a statement of the power of the public vs the power of the judges. both men are super talented but Lambert's range and versatility are really out of sight in a category all his own. His curse was the judges' blessings.

  10. Both outcomes were pretty surprising to me.
