My Very Own LOLCats

OMG - I forgot how much fun it was to have a kitten around the house. I kept Oscar and Dusty separated in different rooms yesterday while my roommate and I were at work, but last night they interacted face-to-to-face. Oscar hissed a little bit, but I could tell his heart wasn't in it - he's just not a mean-spirited cat. In fact, he looked like he wanted to relent and play with the energetic Miss Dusty, but his pride wouldn't allow it. Yet. That is Oscar (above) looking dignified and above all this "childishness".

Dusty, on the other hand, has no inhibitions at all. And she is completely fascinated by her big brother Oscar. I give it a couple more days, and they'll be chasing each other around the apartment like maniacs.

Either that, or Oscar will finally snap and beat the crap out of Dusty for stealing his favorite chair - the one with the fluffy red and white cushions (below).

  3. I love the "non-look" on Oscar's face! When we brought home MaxGoldberg, Tuxedo hissed and spit at him, AND at me since I broguht Max into the house. Now, however, he and Max are best pals.
Same thing with Tallulah. Tuxedo wanted nothing to do with her, or me, after she moved in; he still barely tolerates her, though he has forgiven me!

And that Dusty is so cute!

  4. I see that Dusty is flexing her paw in that picture. Just contented and kneading the cushion...or ready to STRIKE?! I think Oscar is thinking, "If I ignore It, It will go away." LOL XOXO Beth

  5. Beth -

Dusty is a "kneader". When you pet her (which I was doing before I took the picture), she immediately starts purring and kneading. She is definitely not a swatter.

    XOXOXOXOXO

  6. Miss Dusty is adorable! Oscar will warm up to her, and probably but her little tail in place more than once.

  7. Is her complete name Miss Dusty Springfield? Does Oscar have a last name? The Blonde Diva is Brigit McBeal. It fits. She never liked Columbo (last name Jackson because he was found wandering the streets of Old Hickory). He tried so hard to get her attention, but she never relented.

Oscar will probably come around. It sounds as if he's warming up to her. Can't be too enthusiastic, of course. Dusty sounds as adorable as she looks! Oscar is so pretty, and they look like siblings.

  10. Oh girl, I can't wait to meet the new kitty! How did you get her back by the train?

  11. WOW, that is a fast intro. I followed a local shelter's instructions, and didn't "introduce" the cats until after 2 days. AND, even then, I had to supervise. But I think each case must be different. Best of luck!
