It Looks Like I Have A New Apartment...

I saw the apartment (it's better than I expected), I met the roommate (nice guy) and all seems well.  I'm moving into a 2-family house in Astoria, Queens - the landlord's daughter and family live downstairs.  My new roommate (he's been there for 3 years) and I have the entire 2nd floor (which is a 3 bedroom apartment), and I'm renting the middle-sized bedroom.  If we get a 3rd roommate, I'll be paying less than half of what I'm paying in rent now in Manhattan.  If he and I don't get a third person, I'll STILL be paying less than I am now.

Most importantly, my new roommate grew up with cats, and has no problems with my little dumplings moving in.

Now I have to finish getting my stuff packed and ready to go.

  1. Did you make that map?
Can you put David's work on there too?
How long will your commute probably be?

  3. Good luck with the apartment. Glad to hear that you found something. It sounds nice! I haven't seen you on my blog lately (MY BIG ITCH - www.mybigitch.blogspot.com) Things have been pretty hairy lately in my life and I've been writing (venting) like a madman! Please stop by soon.

  6. This sounds like great news. I lived in Brooklyn for most of my time in NYC, and kinda liked that. Congratulations on finding the place!

  7. Wow! That's exciting? How DOES one move in Manhattan? It's not like you can have the lesbians go down to the Texaco on the corner and rent a UHaul. And I don't suppose you can schlep it all on the subway! Will you have to hire movers? What will that cost?! Will Dusty and Oscar get to ride the subway? That will be exciting for them! Most importantly: is there an ARBY'S in Queens?!
