Patrick Stewart got knighted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Wednesday at Buckingham Palace.
I'm sorry, but every time I see a knighting ceremony, all I can think of is the Bugs Bunny episode called Rabbit Hood (above). It's the one where Bugs, dressed as The King, bestows phony titles upon The Sheriff of Nottingham - each time banging the Sheriff in the head with his sceptre...
Sheriff: *bows* Bugs: “Arise, Sir Loin of Beef!” *strikes Sheriff over the head* “Arise, Earl (oil) of Cloves!” *strike* “Arise, Baron of Münchhausen!” *strike* “Arise, Essence of Myrrh!” *strike* “Milk of Magnesia” *strike* “Quarter of Ten…” *strike* Sheriff: (dazed, slurred) “You are too kind, your majesty.” Bugs: (to audience) “Got lots of stamina!”

LOL! Congratulations Sir Stewart.
ReplyDeleteWomen used to always tell my Dad he looked like Patrick Stewart and it drove him mad, because he thought the guy was ugly. So, of course, when he got the super deluxe, motorized wheelchair, we dubbed it The Enterprise. I'm surprised he didn't cut us out of the will!
