Top Chef: E.T. Goes Home

A rather uneventful Top Chef last night, wouldn't you say?  With the producers giving Angelo the "OMG, he's doing so badly HE MIGHT GO HOME" edit, it was obvious that he wasn't going anywhere.  From the very beginning it seemed that this was the episode in which Alex (below) would be going home - and he did.  BTW - he kinda does look like a space alien...

Did you watch?  Thoughts?  Snark??

I will say this - the show is less interesting without the Angelo vs. Kenny "Who Has the Beefiest Wellington" (so to speak) rivalry - don't you think?  There's nothing more fun than watching two competitive straight guys battle it out without being able to actually hit each other (even though they want to).

  4. Very uneventful. You're right about the Bravo editing monkeys, though, how cool would it have been for Angelo to go home? As soon as Tom mentioned that Alex's food was too tough I knew he was toast.

  5. and next week I am just thinking the shock of all shocks...Amanda goes home! OK kidding but how in the hell is she still there? You are right; now that kenny is gone it seems a little flat. still watching though.

  6. This should have happened last week for sure but even sooner, and Amanda should have gone already, too. I miss the Kenny/Angelo rivalry.

The Quickfire had too many weird combos of food, and the Elimination Challenge was hokey. They're getting desperate, and the new baby lack of sleep has caught up with Tom and Padma.

  7. First of all- no one on Earth will ever convince me Angelo is straight. My gaydar went off like a Geiger counter in Chernobyl from the minute I saw him!

Secondly- Alex was a freak of nature! he should have gone home weeks ago!
