I just had to sneak a picture of this woman's HORRIBLE shoes as we rode the subway to work on Thursday. Keep in mind, it was Fashion Week in Manhattan, but this lady chose to wear these shoes - which made her look like the "Evil Elf Witch of Flushing, Queens". The toe was way to long ("I'll get you, my Pretty ... and your Little Dog too!!), and yet the shoes were too small for her - as you can see by how her heel hangs off the back.
I did some research, and these shoes also come in a lovely Forest Green ...
Anywhore, for those of you who have met me - you know I'm no Fashion Maven. But these shoes were so obviously heinous that my Inner Gay desired nothing more than to snatch them off and toss the offensive footwear onto the subway tracks. Where, hopefully, they would be carted off by a family of rats and used for winter accommodations or food storage.
I've given up trying to understand why my sister women allow themselves to be tortured into wearing the ridiculous shoes of today. They are just one step beyond foot binding. Of course, when younger I had a pair of platforms that made my six feet tall. Loved wearing them around my weasely little boss.
ReplyDeleteI am an unadulterated shoe whore! That pair just has so many things going wrong for it - I can see how your inner gay fashion diva had to make and appearance. I do love the extra-pointy western look that is starting to emerge - very late 80s and in a good way.
ReplyDeleteI love shoes, but good Gawd, they are ugly as hell! I bet if you kick someone in the ass with those they would get wedged in there!!! Ouch!
ReplyDeleteThat shoe would be cute if it were a bootie and the toe weren't so long...
ReplyDeletebut then, it wouldn't be that shoe, would it?
Mules, in general, are not attractive and should be avoided.
And, although it can't be seen in the photo, I'll bet her heels were crusty, as well.
Whoo! Whoo! Whoo!
ReplyDeleteThat is the siren of the fashion police getting ready to arrest that woman!!
