Wow ... disappointment after disappointment after disappointment from the Obama administration. In 2008 I was so excited for Change - but little did I know that "Change" meant a $2.7 million tax break for Rush Limbaugh and $1.5 million extra in the pocket of Glenn Beck. PER YEAR.
.
Sad but true DD.
ReplyDeleteSad but true.
I'm not happy about it either, but I listened to him on the radio-seems he realized they were not going to budge, and not wanting to screw millions out of their unemployment benefit extensions, he caved in and went with the lesser of two evils-screw over the way too rich, or screw over those who are basically living hand to mouth? Hard choice, but the poor(us included) cannot weather the storm as long as the rich are able to.
ReplyDeleteIs all politics, world without end, amen.
ReplyDeleteI see where Obama was coming from on not wanting to hurt those already suffering from unemployment or whatever. But where does that thinking lead? Now the Republicans know they just need to "take hostages" to get whatever they want. I don't like it.
ReplyDeleteLOL Good one! If only we could go back in time eh?
ReplyDeletewhat was he o do? The republicans had no intentions of budging on anything and shutting the government down. For him to extend unemployment he had no choice.
ReplyDeletedon't be mad at him, be mad at the republicans for holding our government hostage.
Dan -
ReplyDeleteI'm not mad - I'm just really disappointed. When Republicans stick to their guns, they are "standing on their principles", when Democrats do it (although they rarely do), they are being "unreasonable" or "idealistic" or "naive".
Just once I'd like to be happy about something this administration has done - instead of being made to swallow some bitter "compromise".
Republicans didn't compromise when they were in power - they did whatever the fuck they wanted. And when the Democrats were in power they STILL got about 75% of what they wanted.
It's disappointing. I thought things would be different with President Obama and the Democrats in charge - which, come to think of it, is the TRUE definition of being "naive".
XOXOXO

He has no support from either of the political parties, and obvious no support from you! Come on guys give the man a break... Rome was not built in a day!
