Governor Spitzer made the following statement, standing beside his wife, Silda:
I have acted in a way that violated the obligations to my family and that violates my — or any — sense of right and wrong. I apologize first, and most importantly, to my family. I apologize to the public, whom I promised better. I do not believe that politics in the long run is about individuals. It is about ideas, the public good and doing what is best for the State of New York. But I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard that I expect of myself. I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family. I will not be taking questions. Thank you very much. I will report back to you in short order. Thank you very much.
Still no word as to what happens next...
And on that note, we bid adieu to White Meat Monday.
OK, as a follow-up to my earlier comment re: the earlier shirtless photo . . . he looks really really weird in this shot. Looking at this photo I can see Beth's point.
ReplyDeleteI guess he's trying to look contrite or bummed or totally sorry or whatever but he should never, ever ever under any circumstances do that with his mouth again. He looks like he has no teeth.
Wow.
Since he has admitted being involved with prostitutes, why wasn't he arrested? Oh, that's right... because he's a STRAIGHT WHITE MALE in POLITICS. The rules that apply to the rest of us don't apply to him.
ReplyDeleteMark :-)
