My Poor Crazy Kitty...

It has been a few weeks since Emmy died, and my other cat Oscar is getting lonely. In fact, when I returned from Pennsylvania Monday night he did not leave me alone - and woke me up about once an hour needing petting and attention.

My best friend stopped by a couple of times over the weekend to check up on Oscar and to feed him, and apparently Oscar wouldn't stop meowing. It was the same when my roommate returned Monday afternoon, and when I returned Monday evening. Oscar spent Tuesday night on the couch right beside me, and starts to cry when I go into the other room.

I guess after Christmas we will be on the lookout for a kitten to keep him company. I look forward to a new member of the household.

My cats always wander around the house looking for each other when one's at the vet.

  5. Why wait until after Christmas? A new furry friend could BE Oscar's Christmas present.

Meow-y Christmas, from our 3 cat household....

  7. Oh, I could tell stories of two cats being left alone......

Picture this....a wrestling match that ended in a slammed door (where the litter box was located) and a potted plant....need I say more?

Oscar's furry friend will be an after Christmas present. And if I can give you advice, adopt a shelter kitten, they will save you money in the long run.

  9. How exciting that will be! No, you definitely do not want to leave a new kitten and Oscar alone during Christmas!

We have a sort of dilemma. Brigit hates other cats unless they are hellions like The Little Fools I had to give away because they climbed everywhere and broke things. They happily went to live in a nice barn.

I don't think she missed Columbo that much after he died but was happy to have all of my attention and the house to herself. So because of all this, she's stuck with just me, which is OK with her most of the time except when Brigit has to deal with being bored because I'm just not exciting enough for her. She really is such a blonde diva!

  10. When our oldest dog, Shyla, died, poor Angus was distraught. He was only a puppy and he would whimper and lay in her bed crying. It broke my heart. We haven't replaced her yet, she was too precious and frankly, Angus is more dog than we can handle right now.

Good luck with your new addition. It sounds like poor Oscar needs a buddy.

  11. I do think animals can get lonely and 'miss' other animals they're used to.

A kitty for Christmas! Can't wait to see your new 4-legged family member!

    Mark :-)
