"Got Gravy?"
This was the comment some douchenozzle made as I rushed through the subway station this morning. Dear Mr. Obvious: Thanks for the heads up - I had absolutely no idea I was fat. By the way - I may be huge, but at least I have a job. And a place to live. And an IQ higher than a Marsupial. Which is certainly more than I can say for YOU, Assmonkey.
As much as I hate to let the Dingleberries of Humanity ("DOH's") bother me, I really must do something about my weight. This morning my poor scale screamed "302 lbs!!" at me, which is 120-140 lbs too high for a man of my height.
So today's the day I start making a change. And the DOH's can suck it.
BTW - Bucko suggested that maybe I could coordinate some kind of DustBunny group effort to lose weight. Anyone interested? Any ideas how we could do it?? Leave a comment if you have any suggestions on how we could assist each other in getting healthier.
.
Well, you can count me in. But... I have anxiety issues - so I will not say how much I weigh (bless you for saying so) and some other things but I am a too fluffy bunny. Another blogger account? Folks could report in with whatever they are comfortable reporting, favorite recipes, tips, exercise done (or not done...) Some of us have other health issues (T2 for moi) and there are problems associated with that.
ReplyDeletePeople who bully other people over their weight have unknowingly caught the little know obesity gene. 90 days from now they will instantly be 100 lbs overweight. It is a Law of Nature.
i know you can have a blog where more than one person can post to it, and since i am also on the path of weighing less i could also pitch in. we could do a pirated version of ww together!

Froggy - You don't have to tell us your weight - maybe you could just talk about the amount of weight you lost/gained.
ReplyDeleteMrs. A - I'd be more motivated if results were posted on THIS blog - because more people would see them. Shame can be a big motivating factor for me - and posting results on a blog that very few people would read won't shame me enough. And YES ... I have issues.
Here's what I'm thinking: What if we set a specific time frame (a month or two), and specific weight loss goals (maybe 1-3 lbs per week). I could do one "Weigh-In" post per week. Everyone could send me their weekly results the night before, and in the morning I'd do a post - listing how everyone did. And we could discuss issues in the Comments.
Feedback???
I would have to buy a scale.....
ReplyDeleteYES! It is THAT bad!! I weigh at the doctor's office and my appts. are three months apart. It will take some time to drum up the courage to actually buy a scale and then I would have to hide it.... We could have a contest, whose issues are the worst!!
I have no problems with stuff on here. Or any other arrangement. Just the scale...........
Froggy -
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! Ok, maybe for you the standard could be "good days" vs. "bad days" - and the goal would be to have as many "good days" as possible each week.
Hell, maybe we could all use that standard??
XOXOXOXO
So far it is a good day... :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm in.
ReplyDeleteYES! I like everything so far, and I'd love a suggestions/ what works for me segment, if you're willing to slog through compiling that.
ReplyDeleteOr I could not be a lazy sow and actually read the comments. Whatever works.
I'd like to suggest the slogan "you don't need more, you big fat whore."
Also, since I'm doing WW I'd be happy to help with the pirated WW project in anyway I can.
ReplyDeletei'm in. what's the worst that could happen- we all become even more famous and fabulous than we already are.......

I am in (see my post today). So frustrated when I went to try on bathing suits. Just tell me what to do and I will do it. I will not post my weight but I know what my goal is so I am in.
ReplyDeleteOf course Mame darling I'd be more than willing to send some stiff cock-a-tails to the winner each week! I'd be getting exhausted just watching the results of all of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout-out. I recommend a 10-in-10, ten pounds in ten weeks, a great and healthy start. Monday weigh-in, comment to your blog with pounds lost for the week.
ReplyDeleteI'll play along for the comraderie and community spirit of the contest...
ReplyDeleteI mean, I'm not really FAT or anything, but I don't want to miss out on the fun!!

I'm in, too. I'll tell how much I want to lose and my progress and might mention actual weight sometime. I need to be held accountable for going to the gym and telling what I did.
ReplyDeleteThe weekly report sounds good.
I'm in too. For me it would be helpful to get a little inspiration from everyone else checking in. A link to a Youtube video of the song you're listening too? A good quote? Today my inspiration was hearing Vicki Sue Robinson singing "Turn the Beat Around" on the radio. Made me want to get out & boogie!

Sweetie, since muscle is heavier than fat and may skew your perception, I don't think actual weight loss should be your goal.
ReplyDeletePerhaps inches lost? Get a measuring tape and record the size of tummy, thighs, neck, arms, etc.
Also let's say you walked briskly for 10 min before you had to stop. Your next goal could be 15 or 20 minutes.
It is easier to keep it real when you are managing goals this way.
