Culture Club Reuniting In 2012 !

OMGOMGOMGOMG!!! I am freaking out at the news that my favorite group from high school - Culture Club - will be reuniting in 2012, with a new CD and a world tour!! I will definitely be seeing them in concert next year - who's coming with me??

The icing on the cake would be if they could get the fabulous Helen Terry to accompany Boy George on vocals like she did back in the day. Fingers crossed.

Culture Club Reuniting Next Year !

I am SOOOOO excited to learn (via Towleroad) that my favorite band from childhood - Culture Club - will reunite next year. From Boy George's website:

"We're definitely doing it, in 2012. Our D-Day is April 30, which is the same day as our first-ever single release, “White Boy”... it’s going to be great fun. If we don’t do it now we’ll do it when we’re 60, which will be really tragic."

I only got to see Culture Club live once - and that was long after my high school years (and the band's heyday). The concert was at Radio City Music hall in the mid-90's - with Human League and Howard Jones as the opening acts. I can remember 5,000 soon-to-be-middle-aged Culture Clubbers singing EVERY note to EVERY song - and it was pure HEAVEN.

It will be great to see George, Jon, Mikey and Roy again and have another singalong...

Afternoon Tumble Break - "I'll Tumble 4 Ya"

Today is my childhood idol's 49th birthday - so let's do a little tumbling 4 him, shall we?!?  Happy birthday Boy George!  And YES, I did the personalized birthday picture above, because when it comes to Culture Club I instantly revert back to the 16 year-old girl BOY I was back in Central Pennsylvania.

Current Mood: Melancholy

I have been in a constant funk lately - it feels like I'm treading water but no matter what I do my head keeps dipping deeper and deeper below the water line.  And unfortunately the hunky Lifeguard has gone home for the day.

So, as I've done since High School, I turn to Culture Club for a little comfort...

And YES - I've been taking my crazy pills.
