Yep - there's still tons of trash lining the streets of NYC (picture above taken in Chelsea). The Sanitation Department is attempting to catch up with the trash collection backlog after getting the city plowed out from Blizzageddon.
However, more snow is expected this weekend - so garbage collection will probably come to a screeching halt again. On my block, the trash/recycling has been piling up all week - so if they don't get it tomorrow, it'll end up on the street UNDER a fresh coat of snow. Good times.
Well at least it's not August and 98 degrees outside - the cold weather has definitely kept the stink away. And I'm sure the rats haven't had such a good winter in YEARS...
