Yes, I built this fire on Saturday. I'm a raging flamer, FYI. |
The cabin we stayed at this weekend was pretty much perfect. It had two levels, was clean-as-a-whistle, quiet, private and had fabulously kitchsy decor. We're already making plans for next year.

That sure is a nicely made fire, from one flame to another.
What a wonderful place to get away -- must be spectacular in the fall and winter. How can you bear to leave such a bucolic place and return to all that hot asphalt and cement in the city? Plus time spent with family that doesn't involve bloodshed, 911 calls or a visit from the local SWAT team is so rare nowadays.
Is mandatory, the funky decor :-)
I love it David, looks like a great place to "escape" to, and how butch starting your own camp fires ;-) do not tell me you also chopped wood or I may just explode!!
Oh MMMMMAME, that is a loverly FAIR!!!!! i TAUGHT YOU SO WELL! The cabin is very cute, and the back deck looks very relaxing and good to have some cock-a-tails. Did you par take? And that chair in the corner has Mame sleeping on it with a chicken parm on her chest all over it!!!!!!
Kisses!
What a lovely place in the wood! And I agree with crazy4custer, after seeing all the spectacular beaty and quiet, it must be hard to go back to the city. But Im a old fart now, so I like quiter places.
I didn't chop the wood (there was some firewood left there for us), but I DID gather up sticks from the woods to use as kindling to get the fire (AKA "fair", as Maddie and my Stepmom would say) started.
I guess those 2 months of being a Cub Scout really paid off.
XOXOXOXO
It looks like it's made from Lincoln Logs! What a great getaway!
