Fighting Homophobia - One Cupcake At A Time

In the dictionary under "awesome", there should be a picture of these kids and their rainbowlicious cupcakes. From The Daily What:

While St. Joseph Catholic Secondary School begrudgingly allowed its unofficial gay-straight alliance to hold its anti-homophobia event, it banned the display of rainbows, which the Ontario-based institution said are “associated with Pride.” 

“There’s so many other things that a rainbow could be,” said the unofficial GSA’s 16-year-old founder, Leanne Iskander. “It’s ridiculous.” 

Refusing to let the school’s anti-rainbow policy stop them from being Proud [ed. - and AWESOME], the students decided to bake multicolored cupcakes and arrange them in a rainbow pattern. The best part? There were rainbows baked inside. 

The event wasn’t without its hitches — the school banned most of the group’s literature on gender identity and safe sex and refused to allow the money raised to be donated to an LGBT charity — but Iskander vows to keep fighting the good fight until every Catholic school in Ontario has its own official GSA.

I told you they were awesome.

Does This Mean I Like Miley Cyrus Now???

Miley Cyrus has been tweeting to her million-plus Twitter followers to boycott Urban Outfitters (Facebook group HERE), because UO's founder/CEO is a teatard and supporter of homophobe Rick Santorum. Keep it up, Miley!

However, my cynical, evil twin (a drag queen named "Miss Spent Youth") wonders if this is simply a ploy by Miley's people to get her in good with the Gays. After all, you can't be much of a Pop Diva these days without the Friends of Dorothy on your side.

Totally Non-Homophobic Comment from a Total Non-Homo

this is XXXXXXX XXXXX,, & i just want all u to know that i do not and did not approve my pictures on any gay orientated site!!! i am a absolutely straight man,, and love woman 100%. apparently some idiot stole my pictures and posted em on here.i am not homophobic,, but yet i do not approve any thing to do with the gay community, sorry 

A few things: 

Seriously – capitalization and punctuation should be your friend. Or do you also not want to be associated with the Grammatically Correct Community? On a related note,, what is up with the double-commas? Are you simply stupid,, or were your fingers trembling with rage while you were typing?

Hmmm … most straight men would simply say they are straight and not feel the need to add the thing about loving women “100%”. Was there a time when you only loved women 65%? The lady doth protest too much, methinks. 

FYI: Your pictures were not “stolen”. They were posted on a public modeling site and can be viewed and/or copied by anyone. If you don’t want your pictures “stolen”, then don’t post them on public sites. BTW – most models would kill for their profile to be viewed by 3,000 to 4,000 people per day – and many models personally thank me for featurning them. 

Your “non-homophobic” comments sure sound homophobic to me. When a sentence begins with “I am not a __ fill in the blank __" , this usually means the next words are going to be whatever it is you say you're not. For example: “I am not a racist, I simply hate black people”. Or, “I am not a homophobe, I just don’t want anything to do with filthy queers”. See how that works??? 

Also, your totally non-homophobic comment should go over REAL well in the straight male-dominated world of fashion. 

Finally, there is a statement at the bottom of my blog stating that if you would like your pictures removed from DavidDust, simply send me an email and I’ll remove them. But instead of sending an email, you tried to coment on the blog post which featured you … twice. I guess so all those women you love 100% will know that you're totally not gay. Needless to say, I never published those comments – but I DID delete your pictures, as well as the links to your modeling information. That way no homosexual photographers, stylists, casting directors or fashion editors could see your pictures here on DavidDust and then contact you regarding some deviant homosexual photoshoot which might benefit your modeling “career”.

Adorable Picture - Homophobic Caption

I saw this yesterday over at LGBT Laughs.  A Twitter user posted this picture on Twitpic, along with a caption that said "Both of these n****s need to drink bleach!".  LGBT Laughs asked Twitter users to go HERE and comment on the sweetness of this picture - and on the ignorance and homophobia of the person who posted it.

As of yesterday there were hundreds of comments, but @SpokenReasons (he's a comedian?? who tweets  about God a lot - go figure) is now deleting pro-LGBT comments.  Let's keep him on his toes - if you have a Twitter account, go HERE and speak your mind.

NGLCC To McDonald's - See Ya Later, Haters!

According to Joe.My.God, The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (which represents 1.4 million LGBT-owned businesses) had severed all ties with McDonald's.

Perhaps somebody at the NGLCC read MY RANT about Christian homophobic McDonald's COO Donald Thompson (above).

As I said before, I've started my own one (fat) man boycott of the Golden Arches - so my diabolical plot to change or destroy McDonald's is going right according to plan.

However, if I hear about the McRib coming back to NYC, all bets are off ...

Amber Duskin Organizes Protest Against Gay Teen

This story about gay Georgia teen Derrick Martin just tugs at my heartstrings. When we first heard about him, Derrick had gotten permission from his school district to bring his boyfriend to the prom. Yeah Gay!!

But ever since then, the news hasn't been so great. First we learned that Derrick's parents kicked him out of his home, supposedly because OF THE MEDIA ATTENTION.

Then yesterday I read that a student named Amber Duskin (above - with back turned, speaking to Derrick) organized a protest against Derrick outside the county courthouse (full story HERE).

The rally’s organizer, Amber Duskin, sent text messages to high school students Wednesday asking them to show up.

The senior said she asked her high school to return her prom ticket money and does not plan to attend because of Martin.

“I don’t believe in going up there and dancing with gay guys like that,” she said. “It’s also not just him bringing a boy. It was bringing all this attention to it.”

WTF?  Amber Duskin supposedly wasn't upset that Derrick is gay - she was upset by all the "attention".  Note to Amber Duskin: ORGANIZING A PROTEST brings even more "attention"!  Are you really that stupid?  No, Amber Duskin, I doubt that you are.  So why don't you just say what you really want to say - you hate gay people.  After all - you stated you didn't want to "dance with gay guys like that".  That is called "homophobia".  Learn it ... and OWN it.

Additional Note to Amber Duskin:  I have purposefully used your name - AMBER DUSKIN - multiple times so that when some gay/progressive potential future employer or Human Resources person looks you up on The Google, they might just find out what kind of a person you really are.  The facts speak for themselves.

Seriously, HOW CAN ANYONE HATE ON THESE KIDS?!?  Derrick is an honor student with a full scholarship to college and his boyfriend wears flip-flops and plays the trumpet along the train tracks!!  It doesn't get more All-American than that!

One More Note to Amber Duskin:  Derrick and Richard probably don't want to dance with you either.

Father/Son Taking On Homophobia In Hockey

Brian Burke is the General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the U.S. Olympic hockey team. His son, Brendan Burke, is a player/manager for the #1 ranked Miami University (OH) hockey team. Brendon happens to be gay, and recently came out publicly in an ESPN article (although he was already out to his friends, family, and teammates). And it turns out Brendan's father couldn't have been prouder of his son's courage...

"I had a million good reasons to love and admire Brendan. This news didn't alter any of them. I would prefer Brendan hadn't decided to discuss this issue in this very public manner. There will be a great deal of reaction, and I fear a large portion will be negative. But this takes guts, and I admire Brendan greatly, and happily march arm in arm with him on this.

There are gay men in professional hockey. We would be fools to think otherwise. And it's sad that they feel the need to conceal this. I understand why they do so, however. Can a gay man advance in professional hockey? He can if he works for the Toronto Maple Leafs! Or for Miami University Hockey. God bless Rico Blasi! And I am certain these two organizations are not alone here.

Randy Gets a "Little" Excited About The Gays

Randall Terry (above) - anti-choice activist and noted homophobe - attended the National Equality March last weekend to heckle the pro-equality marchers. And according to the picture above - all those hot menz made Randy a little "happy" - with emphasis on LITTLE. Or maybe it was the older daddy who all up in Randy's face that got a "rise" out of him.

I did some internet research and wasn't surprised to learn that Randy is a real piece of work. Terry left his wife of 16 years for his church secretary, and he publicly and vocally disowned his adopted son after the son came out of the closet. Is that what they mean by "Family Values"??

"Pastor" Claims All Gays Are Pedophiles

"Pastor" Steven Anderson (above) of the Faithful Word Baptist "Church" of Tempe, AZ is the idiot who got national attention by telling his congregation that he prays for President Obama's death.

Anderson's nightly prayer probably goes something like this...

Now I lay me down to sleep.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
And if it's not too must to ask,
could you please kill that black guy
who is making all us backwoods inbreds
crazier than a sack full of ferrets?

This "man of God" (barf) displayed his gentle and loving brand of Christianity again during an interview with openly gay journalist/blogger Michelangelo Signorile. It seems that Anderson is convinced that all gay people are pedophiles. Period. End of story.

Here is a transcript of a portion of their conversation (and I'm seriously not making this part up)...

MS: You know, I'm gay..I'm gay, and I don't molest any children. What do you think of that?
SA: Well, I'd say you're lying.
MS: You think i must be molesting children, right?
SA: Exactly, right.

SA: If you're a homosexual, I hope you get brain cancer like Ted Kennedy.

How can ANYONE consider this guy a Christian?

I don't wish brain cancer on Steve Anderson, but I DO hope that his five children grow up to despise and shun him for his disgusting beliefs. And I also hope at least one of them turns out to be a fabulous, non-pedophile, homersextical.

According to internet reports over the weekend - Amazon.com has deemed most gay-themed books as "adult" - thus stripping them of the sales rank and making it difficult to search and/or purchase. Gay classics such as Giovanni's Room and Rubyfruit Jungle have now been effectively labeled as "porn". Andrew Holleran's Dancer From The Dance - a book that helped me to come out of the closet - is also on this list, as is Brokeback Mountain.

This is an outrage! Not to mention the fact that it takes money directly out of the pockets of gay authors (such as Dust Bunny Eric Arvin). Please go HERE and sign a petition to protest Amazon's new "Adult" policy. Homophobia will not be tolerated!

Pope: Gay Behavior = Deforestation???

Pope Benedict said on Monday that saving humanity from homosexual or transsexual behavior was just as important as saving the rainforest from destruction.

"(The Church) should also protect man from the destruction of himself. A sort of ecology of man is needed," the pontiff said in a holiday address to the Curia, the Vatican's central administration.

"The tropical forests do deserve our protection. But man, as a creature, does not deserve any less."
