Get Well Soon, Papa Bunny!

If I seem a little bit distracted over the next few days, it's because my darling Dad was admitted to the hospital yesterday with pneumonia. He suffers from COPD, which unfortunately can help cause bouts of pneumonia - but our local hospital (back in PA) should be able to knock it out of him with antibiotics and respiratory treatments.

I went into the hospital last year (on Father's Day, actually) - with pneumonia, so I know exactly how miserable he's feeling right now. We spoke on the phone briefly, and Dad seems to be in good spirits and well taken care of by my Stepmom and Brother.

So, if you have a moment, send Papa Bunny some healing vibes, positive energy, and prayers to the Baby Jeebus for a swift recovery!

Happy Father's Day to my beloved Dad (above).  I hope he has a chance to go fishing today - it's his favorite thing to do in the whole world.

Happy Birthday/Caturday to My Dad!

Today is my beloved father's birthday - Happy Birthday Dad!  I just spoke to him - and he is currently waiting for my Stepmom to return with his birthday gifts - new slippers and a case of Corona.  Dad knows how to do it right.

Speaking of my Dad, when I was home for Thanksgiving I mentioned the two kitties my Dad/Stepmom had up for adoption.  Well, I'm happy to report that they've been adopted ... by my Dad.

Bentley (male, left) and Benny (female, right) are just too damn cute to give up.  So now my Dad and Stepmom have 11 kitties.  Luckily my Stepmother is a cleaning lady by trade - because when you walk into their house you absolutely cannot tell they have ANY cats.  It's actually quite amazing.

I Fell In Love ...

... with this little baby in Pennsylvania. Like I mentioned before, my Dad is caring for a male and a female kitten which were abandoned by their mother - Dad literally nursed them by hand until they were big enough to eat on their own. The little girl is TOO CUTE - that is her in the pic above, snuggling in my arms. When she and her brother are done playing, she likes to jump up on your lap and get petted - which makes her purr and purr and purr.

My Dad Has TWO Basement Cats!

Anyone who is a fan of I Can Has Cheezburger (like me) knows about Ceiling Cat and Basement Cat. Ceiling Cat is white and represents everything good (God), and Basement Cat is black and represents evil (Satan).

As I've mentioned before, both of Dusty's brothers live at my Dad's house. And they both just happen to be completely black ... and live exclusively in the basement...

They're really sweet kitties ... but I definitely watch my back when I'm downstairs doing laundry or watching TV. Speaking of TV - one of them is a BIG fan of the Wanda Sykes Show...

Considering the horrible reviews Wanda has gotten for her new show, this COULD be a sign of demonic possession.

Happy Father's Day

I would like to wish my dear Dad and my Stepdaddy a very happy Father's Day. They are both wonderful men.

I know I don't talk much about my Dad here on the blog, but my father is the most generous, most responsible, and the most lovable guy you could ever meet. Case in point: When I come to visit, Dad makes sure the fridge is full of the PA Dutch potato salad I like. Because that's how he rolls. He also gives me unlimited use of his pickup truck for my repeat trips to the Wal-Mart, AND he even pays for the gas. I love you Dad!

My Stepdaddy also deserves special recognition. After all, he lives with my wacky Mom - which I'm pretty sure puts him on track for Sainthood. I'm not saying Mama Bunny is difficult to live with, but "the most generous, responsible, etc." guy (see above) couldn't handle the job - so it can't be easy. Dear Stepdaddy - thanks for taking care of my #1 lady!

Happy Fathers Day to both of these great men - and to all of the wonderful fathers out there.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my Dad's birthday. As a testament to our small-town roots: even though it is January 2nd, Dad was the "New Year's Baby" (first baby of the year) in our town when he was born.

I know my Dad probably won't see this - the half-naked Papis and my liberal politics usually keeps him away from my blog - but I still wanted to wish him a Happy Birthday. Have a great day Dad, I love and admire you more than you know.

Kitties Everywhere

My Dad and Stepmom have turned into Crazy Cat People - and now have 8 cats that they take care of. Of course they always complain about how eight is just "too much", but there always seems to be room for one more. I always stay with my Dad when I visit my family, so these were my roommates over the past week.
