New Year's Eve Just Won't Be The Same

A few weeks ago MTV announced they were planning on putting Jersey Shore's Snooki into a plastic hamster ball and dropping her in Times Square on New Year's Eve - which would coincide with an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for group fist-pumping. Seriously.

But the powers-that-be here in NYC came to their senses and put the kibosh on the whole sordid affair - refusing to grant MTV the proper permits. So THAT'S what Mayor Bloomberg has been working on instead of snow removal! Question: Which exact PERMITS does one apply for when one is looking to put a idiot/midget from Jersey into a plastic ball in order to drop her while thousands of people fist-pump in unison?? Someone please get back to me on this.

Preparing for Snooki in Seaside Heights

Anywhore, TMZ is reporting that MTV has relocated the Snooki Habitrail Hamster New Year's Eve Ball to - where else - the Jersey Shore. Because those 12 people still in Seaside Heights, NJ during the winter need SOMETHING to do on New Year's Eve.

New Jersey "Bioch" Must Give Her Plates Back

Kim Romano (above) has had personalized "BIOCH" licence plates for years, but the New Jersey Motor Vehicles Commission is making her return them.  Recently some uptight busybody reported her to the MVC, saying "Bioch" was offensive - and the state agreed.  Seriously? ... "Bioch" is offensive??  To the residents of NEW JERSEY?!?!?  Bioch, puh-leeeeese.

So Romano is getting replacement plates, reportedly, they will say "WHAEVER".

The BOSS Endorses NJ Marriage Equality

Bruce Springsteen is a GOD in New Jersey. Seriously. So his endorsement of Marriage Equality in his home state certainly can't hurt.

Like many of you who live in New Jersey, I've been following the progress of the marriage-equality legislation currently being considered in Trenton. I've long believed in and have always spoken out for the rights of same sex couples and fully agree with Governor Corzine when he writes that, "The marriage-equality issue should be recognized for what it truly is -- a civil rights issue that must be approved to assure that every citizen is treated equally under the law." I couldn't agree more with that statement and urge those who support equal treatment for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters to let their voices be heard now.

Wildwood, New Jersey

In honor of my journey yesterday to the Garden State, I present to you some footage from a early 90's documentary about Wildwood, NJ. My favorite quote: "You always got the CHECK to CASH!" (while pointing at her 'gina). Keep it classy Miss New Jersey ...

The week after I graduated from high school, myself and a group of friends spent "Senior Week" in a rented house in Wildwood. Next door to us were girls who looked EXACTLY like the ladies who appear in this video - right down to the outfits. The gals were kinda skanky, but their boyfriends were gorgeous.

And if I remember correctly, MY 17-year-old "check" almost got cashed a couple of times that weekend...

July 4th Plans...

The picture (above) was taken during a July 4th gathering with my Gays back in Central Pennsylvania - circa 1992 or 93. Yes, I am the bitch with a towel wrapped around my head wearing sunglasses. I was probably hiding out from any number of menz, and this was the best disguise I could come up with on short notice.

This year I'll be heading out of Manhattan and going to the Garden State - New Jersey - for a cookout at my "Aunt Diane's". Since I'll be out of town, comment moderation may not happen until tonight. Have a great holiday, and don't eat too many grilled weenies!!
