RIP Loleatta Holloway


Legendary Disco Diva Loleatta Holloway has died at the age of 64. I bet there is a SERIOUS dance party going on right now in heaven.

Afternoon Dance Break - Good Vibrations


Before Mark Wahlberg became a 'serious actor', he and his "funky bunch" (see above) was the fantasy of every gay man who ever set foot in Macy's Underwear Department.  And Marky Mark's song, Good Vibrations (which featured vocals by DIVA Loleatta Holloway), played in constant rotation on gay dance floors everywhere...

Afternoon Dance Break: Loleatta Holloway - The Queen's Anthem

I remember LOLing the first time I heard the opening line of this song at the Roxy - but then I ended up dancing my butt off because the beat was so sick.  Truly fierce.
