Laundry Day

Yesterday I finally did laundry (my underwear situation was getting critical) - and Miss Dusty discovered that warm jeans left in the laundry bag is a great place for a nap. Smart kitty...

Dusty Winehouse Has a New Addiction!

After a secret stint at The Kitty Ford Rehab Center for a bad case of the drunks (thanks to Maddie), my darling cat Dusty Winehouse has a new addiction ... BALLS!

Specifically, little plastic lattice cat toys with little bells inside.  Dusty is obsessed with them, and she loves to play fetch:  while sitting on the couch I throw the ball and she gives chase - returning it to the couch for me to repeat the process. Over and over and over and over.

So imagine our horror yesterday when my fat ass stepped on the last ball - completely destroying it.  So I had to make an emergency trip to the Petland Discount store a few blocks away - just minutes before it closed for the night.  Yes, my kitty is THAT spoiled.

Thank goodness they had the right ones - they MUST be latticed so Dusty can get them in her mouth.  Don't be dirty - this is my cute kitty we're talking about!!

And I'm not sure if you can read the price, but each package of 4 costs $2.49!!!  That store should be called "Petland Ripoff".  This is what happens when you live in a city without any Wal-Marts.

At first Dusty wasn't sure these were the right balls...

But soon she was warming up to them, waiting impatiently for me to open the package...

I wonder if the Kitty Ford Center has a program for Dusty's new addiction?.

My Little Girl Is Turning Into A Woman!

My darling baby girl - Miss Dusty Winehouse - is IN HEAT!!!  The poor thing walks around the apartment moaning ... so I need to make a Vet appointment for her ASAP to get her fixed.  Hopefully this will curb Dusty's current desire to hit the Ho Stroll...

My Little Princess

Yes, Miss Dusty Winehouse has me wrapped around her adorable little paw. Sometimes, if I'm feeling EXTRA nice, Daddy will fill up the bathroom sink with hot water and let the porcelain get nice and roasty-toasty for his baby girl. Then Daddy drains the water, dries out the sink, and lets his little Dumpling enjoy a warm spot for a catnap.

She LOVES it...

Monday Cat Blogging

OMG - little Miss Dusty Winehouse (above) is a handful! Her latest project consists of shredding the shower curtain liner in the bathroom. When she gets done with one, it looks like the Tasmanian Devil just took a shower. But, of course, when I catch her in the act, she bats those eyes and gives me a "Who, me?" look.

Luckily I can buy the liners at the Dollar Store - so it's not that major of a deal. But today I tried a new approach. I left about 2 inches of water in the tub - so she won't get in. My thinking is if she can't get in the tub (which she LOVES), she won't shred up the shower curtain. We'll see how it works.

Meanwhile, Oscar (below) does NOT approve of Dusty's shenanigans...

Air-Kisses and Bye-Byes to Miss Ginger!

Miss Ginger (above, with Dusty Winehouse) was in town for one more night last night, so we met for dinner. I mentioned that former Top Cheftestant Leah Cohen's restaurant was right down the street from my job - and Ginger offered to buy - so we headed over to Centro Vinoteca.

If I recall correctly, I MAY have said some less-than-polite things about Leah Cohen (below) in my Top Chef recaps. Possibly. But I have to give her credit, Centro Vinoteca was great. It was casual yet chic, and upscale without being pretentious. And the food was delicious.

Of particular note were the fantastic Truffled Deviled Eggs. They pretty much ROCKED...

After dinner, we walked over to the High Line and took in the views of the city as the sun set. It was gorgeous and the weather was perfect.

After we left the High Line, we continued walking. And before we knew it we had walked the entire 2 1/2 miles back to midtown! So we said our goodbyes and I headed home. But I can't wait for that crazy biatch to return to NYC - Ginger is truly the life of the party and the perfect dinner and/or Go-Go Bar companion.

Check out Ginger's take on the evening HERE.
