We're Looking at YOU Yankees and Mets
Here's the score: The Chicago Cubs have announced their intent to make an It Gets Better video in support of LGBT youth. The San Francisco Giants have already produced one:
So now it's time, New York, to "step up to the plate". Yankees: are you gonna wait until the friggin RED SOX make a video** before you get off your (extremely well-toned and gorgeous) butts? Mets: let's face it, ya'll don't have much else going on - might as well do your part to stop anti-gay bullying and prevent LGBT suicide.
New York's LGBT community is waiting....
** UPDATE: Dammit - that was fast! The hated Red Sox are doing it too. Thanks cariboubarbie for the heads up.

Play Ball !
Summer must be around the corner, because the New York Yankees played their home opener at Yankee Stadium today. The Yanks beat Detroit, 6-3.
Related: Outfielder Curtis Granderson used Rebecca Black's Friday as his at-bat music (seriously) - and hit his third consecutive Opening Day home run (below) in the 7th inning, breaking a 3-3 tie. Coincidence???

New York Yankees - Off-Season
"If you're a Yankee fan, or if you're not a Yankee fan - you have to admit, we're winners."
... Paul O'Neill
"The essence of the Yankees is that they win. From in front or from behind, they win. And that's why the history of the New York Yankees is virtually the history of baseball."
... Dave Anderson, The New York Times

Thank You Red Sox Nation
As you might have heard, the New York Yankees lost owner George Steinbrenner and longtime Yankee announcer (since 1951!) Bob Sheppard during this past week. And if you know anything about baseball, there is no greater rivalry in all of sports than the one between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. The teams and their fans genuinely dislike each other and have no problems showing their hatred toward their rivals.
So when I saw that the Boston Red Sox held a moment of silence at Fenway before their game with the Texas Rangers to honor Steinbrenner and Sheppard, I was floored.
Dear Red Sox - thanks for being a class act.
