Ewwwwww ... I THOUGHT I Smelled Something
According to Gothamist, former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford was spotted on the Applachian Trail NYC subway yesterday afternoon (picture above). Does Mr. Sanford realizes that the subway is a communist plot funded by public money and that the people who run the system are - gasp - union members!?!? Is Mr. Sanford some kind of secret librul Kenyan or somesuch?!???
Perhaps he was just looking for his next "soul mate"...

PAPIveillance - My Morning Commute
Normally I sleep like a junkie during my morning subway commute - but today I sat across from THIS gentleman. Who kept me QUITE awake, thankyouverymuch.

"Is that fat guy taking my picture??" |
At first I thought Subway Papi - who was enthusiastically discussing some floor-plans/architectural drawings with his female companion - might be "family". But two things happened which absolutely confirmed his heterosexuality:
- He kissed his girlfriend in the middle of their conversation - and not in the "Hey Girlfriend, can't wait to see you at Brunch on Sunday!" kind of way. This was the "Hey Baby, can't wait to get you home and lay the SMACKDOWN on you" sort of kiss. Lucky Beeyotch.
- Also, Papi talked incessantly about all the "frosted glass" he planned on putting in the apartment/house they were discussing. And everyone knows that no self-respecting Gay would ever use frosted glass for anything other than a shower enclosure. EVER.

That Didn't Take Long
I spotted this graffiti yesterday at the 34th St/Herald Square subway station - less than 24 hours after President Obama announced that Osama Bin Layingatthebottomoftheocean had been killed.

Biggest ... um ... BOUQUET Wins
Paparazzi shot, taken on the subway, of some of the attendees of my annual Valentine's Day ... um ... "Open House". As you can see, I left these poor boys exhausted - and instructed them to take those hideous Bodega flower bouquets to their neglected girlfriends.
What can I say - I'm a giver...

Wakey Wakey!
Stupid rat. Doesn't he know there is a BUFFET awaiting him on the SIDEWALKS of NYC? Get off that train, go up the steps, and enjoy.

Jake Gyllenhaal on the NYC Subway
Jakey G was spotted on the Q train last night. And, as you can see, my fellow New Yorkers fell asleep on our way home from work REALLY made a fuss over him.

Fall In New York City
Ah ... New York City in the Fall: there's a chill in the air, the leaves in Central Park are changing, and random subway riders are airing out their junk in public. Subway air - it's the Febreeze of NYC.
Anywhore - in the video below SenorPinga waves a teeny tiny "hello" to Ms. Sally NotTheOne ... and all hell breaks loose. Personally, I would have escorted the guy to the closest motel, not the police precinct - but I'm a hopeless romantic (especially in the fall).

NYC's Abandoned 'City Hall' Subway Station
From HuffPo:
If you ride the 6 train to the end of the line and get off at the Brooklyn Bridge stop, you're missing out on something incredible. As the train loops around to go back uptown, it passes through an abandoned and beautifully preserved City Hall station from 1904.
The city closed the station in 1945, mostly because at its height only 600 people a day used it, and because the loop created an unsafe gap at the platform. In 1995 the city vowed to restore the site and turn it into a part of the transit museum, but those plans were scrapped years later.
The station is still not open to the public, but there's a trick you can use to see it for yourself. Until recently the MTA would force passengers to get off before the train made the loop, but now passengers are allowed to stay on. So the next time you reach the end of the line, keep going.
I am totally doing this.

Two Reasons NOT To Love Living In NYC
Yesterday I did a post about the 50 Reasons To Love NYC. But there are some drawbacks on living in this fair city - you might just stumble upon Kim and Kourtney Kardashian on the subway. {{{shudders}}}

This Morning on the Subway ...
I had the pleasure of sharing my commute this morning with this gentleman - so I did a little SIRveillance.
Note: "SIRveillance" is the brainchild of Dwight Supremacy.

Crimes Of Fashion
I just had to sneak a picture of this woman's HORRIBLE shoes as we rode the subway to work on Thursday. Keep in mind, it was Fashion Week in Manhattan, but this lady chose to wear these shoes - which made her look like the "Evil Elf Witch of Flushing, Queens". The toe was way to long ("I'll get you, my Pretty ... and your Little Dog too!!), and yet the shoes were too small for her - as you can see by how her heel hangs off the back.
I did some research, and these shoes also come in a lovely Forest Green ...
Anywhore, for those of you who have met me - you know I'm no Fashion Maven. But these shoes were so obviously heinous that my Inner Gay desired nothing more than to snatch them off and toss the offensive footwear onto the subway tracks. Where, hopefully, they would be carted off by a family of rats and used for winter accommodations or food storage.
