I took THIS presidential election quiz (seen at JMG) - and the candidate with the positions most like mine (92% - see above) ended up being "Jill Stein". I had to Google her - she's the Green Party candidate.

Well THAT Sucked ...
Nothing like waking up with a hangover and a Republican-controlled House of Representatives. On a brighter note, the Teatards actually prevented Republicans from taking the Senate - O'Dumbbell in DE, Sharon Angle in NV - so thank you Sarah Palin for that.
Feel free to share your thoughts on yesterday's election in the comments section, while I chug another Diet Coke and try get my head to stop throbbing...

VOTE on Tuesday!
I know many of us are disillusioned by the perceived lack of progress by our Democratic President and Congress over the past two years - count me among those disillusioned and disappointed. But NOT voting on Tuesday won't improve our situation one iota - in fact, it will only make it worse.
Keep this in mind: The Teatards WANT progressives and LGBT voters to stay home on Tuesday. It will help them tremendously, giving them political momentum going into 2012. And sometimes in politics, momentum is all you need - especially when you lack a plan for the future and/or the intellect to govern.
Don't be a pawn of the Tea Party ... VOTE on Tuesday.

Martha Coakley for U.S. Senate
This is SERIOUS people - according to the latest polls, Ted Kennedy's U.S. Senate seat could go to a REPUBLICAN in tomorrow's special election. And a real slimy Republican to boot.
Daily Kos reports the latest polling from PPP, and it's not looking good...
Martha Coakley 46%
Scott Brown 51%
Scott Brown 51%
THIS IS IMPORTANT: If you live in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, PLEASE vote for Martha Coakley tomorrow. And make sure your friends do as well.
Do it for Teddy...

Annise Parker Elected Houston's Next Mayor

From the Houston Chronicle:
Congratulations to Ms. Parker! But I would like to remind her that it was probably the ever-important endorsement of the DavidDust Editorial Board that put her over the top. If you remember, DavidDust officially endorsed Annise Parker yesterday.
And in case you're wondering who else (besides me) is on the Editorial Board - it is a three-member panel consisted of myself and these two...

Although Dusty (left) and Ocsar (right) usually sleep through the meetings.
Annise Danette Parker was elected mayor of Houston on Saturday, winning her seventh consecutive city election and becoming both the first contender in a generation to defeat the hand-picked candidate of Houston's business establishment and the first openly gay person to lead a major U.S. city.
