Oh HELL No...

I have a bad feeling about this...

About an hour ago someone buzzed my apartment from the street. He said he was from Time Warner Cable and needed to get to the roof. I buzzed the guy in, and SURE AS SHIT, my cable went off about 30 minutes later. I certainly hope this doesn't turn into a complete fiasco like before - but this is exactly how it started the last time.

I called Time Warner, and after being on hold for 15 minutes, I mentioned to the very nice woman that the last time this happened, I contacted Howard Szarfarc's office. She immediately recognized the name of the Time Warner Cable's Executive Vice President and gave me extremely courteous customer service. I was told there is an "outage in my area" - and the technical department is "aware of the problem" - all things I have heard before.

I have a feeling this won't be my last call to Time Warner Cable...

UPDATE: My cable is back on. I was going to delete this post - but I think I'll keep it up for now, just in case things change.

Top Chef Recap Tonight!

Dearest Dust Bunnies -

I WAS able to catch Top Chef last night on my newly-working cable! However, due to work responsibilites, I won't be able to finish writing it until later. It will definitely be up by this evening - along with the usual hotness.

BTW - I got a reply email late last night from the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Time Warner Cable/New York and New Jersey. She promises to call me today. They are all shitting their pants because this letter was sent to, and read by, the "Big Boss's" office. Now everyone wants to cover their ass.

Next step: making sure I don't pay a cable bill for a long, long, time...

I love you all! And I LOVE your hair...

XOXOXO

David

Don't FUCK With Me Fellas!

This ain't my first time at the Rodeo!

You are NOT going to believe this! I emailed Time-Warner's President and CEO (Howard Szarfarc), and I "blind CC'd" the COO, Senior V.P. and General Manager for New York and New Jersey, Senior V.P and General Manager for Customer Service, and the Senior V.P. and General Manager of High Speed Online. See the email below, which went out at a few minutes after 6:00 pm:

To: Howard Szarfarc, President
Time Warner Cable, New York City

Dear Mr. Szarfarc -

I am troubled to have to write this letter to you directly, but it seems that your “customer service” representatives are either unable, or unwilling to help me.

On Tuesday, March 25, 2008, my Roadrunner connection went out, and I made a service appointment for the following Tuesday (April 1st) evening. That Saturday (March 29th), I noticed Time Warner Technicians in my building fixing one of my neighbor's connections. In doing so, they knocked out my cable television. So I was left with NO cable TV, and NO internet connection.

That evening, Saturday, March 29th, I called your customer service department to report the outage, and to see if I could get an earlier appointment, since it was obviously Time Warner’s fault that my cable TV was now out. The first representative hung up on me, the second kept me on hold for 40 minutes before disconnecting me, and the third promised a callback that never came. NO ONE would allow me to speak to a Supervisor. I finally gave up, and decided to wait for my already-scheduled Tuesday (April 1st) appointment. The confirmation number I was given for Tuesday’s appointment was XXXXXX.

On Tuesday, April 1st, I made sure I was home at 6:00 pm to wait for the Technician. At around 8:00 pm he showed up, and after 45 seconds, stated “I can’t help you - you need a daytime appointment”. He called his dispatcher, who said there were no appointments available until Saturday, April 8th. I protested, and he angrily said “Do you want it, or not?!”. I took the appointment, but immediately called customer service AGAIN to BEG for an earlier appointment.

“Chanel” at your Support Center was able to get be an appointment for the following day (today, April 2nd) between the hours of 10am and 2pm. I called my boss at home to make arrangements to come to work late the following day, after my Time Warner appointment. I even called customer service this morning to confirm my appointment (and I was assured by your representative that they were coming). I stayed in my apartment, next to my phone waiting for my buzzer to ring. By 2:00 pm, no one had shown. I called customer service AGAIN. After ANOTHER 45 minute phone call, I was told that someone would be here by 6:00 pm, and was given a confirmation number of XXXXXX.

It is now 6:00 pm, and no one has come by, or called. I have missed an entire day of work, without so much as a telephone call from Time Warner Cable explaining the TWO missed appointments today.

Previously, I had considered adding Time Warner telephone, and DVR to my service package - but NO MORE! It is obvious that your company does not appreciate or even respect me or my time, so I am no longer interested in expanding my relationship with your company. [This was bullshit that I added to show how this could affect their profits...but again, it's total BULL]

I need someone to call me on my cell phone IMMEDIATELY. My number is XXX-XXX-XXXX. I am tired of being frustrated and angry at Time Warner Cable, and I simply want my TV and Internet working again! If this continues, I will be forced to find another provider who is able to give me these services, and who WANTS my business!

Sincerely,

JOAN FUCKING CRAWFORD!!!

Within 5 minutes, my cell phone rang. It was some exec. saying that the CEO's office just called with instructions to take care of me. She assured me that someone would be here in 15-20 minutes. Five minutes later, ANOTHER exec. called me - offering to follow-up in an hour.

Twenty minutes later, a FINE Papi (goodness, they even got THAT part right) rang my bell, along with his SUPERVISOR. Twenty minutes later, I had cable and high-speed internet. And five minutes after that, I got a follow-up call.

I recommend this technique anytime you have a problem with a large corporation. Get some names and email addresses of the top brass...because shit ALWAYS rolls downhill...

And remember: don't ever, EVER mess with this bitch!

UN FUCKING BELIEVABLE!!!!

I took the day off work today for my crucial "daytime" Time Warner appointment. I made sure I was in the apartment, with phone at my side, between 10am and 2pm. I even called customer "service" this morning to confirm my appointment, and they assured me that someone would be here. Well guess what, NOBODY SHOWED UP.

So I just finished ANOTHER 45 minute telephone call with some unconcerned bitch, who says the technicians are "very busy" and may not be able to get to me today at all. She wanted to know if I wanted to reschedule for TOMORROW. I told her I now have to work on SUNDAY to make up for missing today, and I ain't about to work on SATURDAY also. After many, many, many minutes on hold, the bitch assured me that someone would be here before 6:00 pm. How much do you want to bet that ain't gonna happen?!? Or if it does happen, they won't be able to fix anything.

I can't believe Time Warner Cable can stay in business with such ignorant and unconcerned employees. It was one thing when Time Warner had a cable monopoly, but they have competition now. UN FUCKING BELIEVABLE.

UPDATE: It is now 6:21 pm - no call/no show. I missed an entire day's work for NOTHING. I have also emailed the ENTIRE management team (I've been googling feverishly), but if that doesn't work, Maddie and I are gonna find 'em and start cuttin'!!!!!

Happy Hump Day!

I am blogging via a "bootleg" wireless signal from my apartment. It's almost noon, and still no Time Warner Cable. My "appointment" is from 10am to 2pm.

I DID actually have something go right for me this morning (for a change). The most adorable Dominican hunk came to my apartment to fix my dishwasher (it's been broken for 1 1/2 weeks). He had the thickest accent (which was SO hot), and he said one of the parts of my dishwasher was "loosey" (loose). I got his business card, and will soon begin breaking things in my apartment for him to fix.

Wait, maybe he called ME "loosey", or "Lucy"...

"Lucy! Ju got sum 'splainin' to do!!". He DID kinda sound like Ricky Ricardo...

Time Warner Cable STILL Sucks Ass

I am doing this on a "borrowed" wireless signal from my apartment. After waiting for two hours, the (very UN-cute) repairman was here for 45 seconds, and proceeded to tell me I needed a DAYTIME appointment. They tried to give me an appointment for SATURDAY, but after much bitching and moaning, my NEW appointment is now for tomorrow.

It doesn't look good for a Top Chef Recap on Thursday. Even if Time Warner does get me up and running, I have an event during lunch on Thursday that would delay my writing. I'll keep you posted...

Wish me luck!

Time Warner Cable Sucks ASS!

I am SO pissed at Time Warner Cable right now. My internet connection (Roadrunner) has been out since Tuesday – I have an appointment for them to fix it this Tuesday (that’s ONE WHOLE WEEK) without internet access in my apartment.

Yesterday there were some Time Warner repairmen in my building fixing someone else’s internet connection. In doing so, they somehow knocked out my cable TELEVISION. Yes, that’s right – no internet AND no TV!

I called Time Warner Customer “Service” to see if it was possible to move my appointment up to MONDAY, since it was THEIR fault that I now have no TV. I spent almost 2 hours on the phone yesterday, and got NOWHERE!

Bitch #1 – Was EVIL and hung up on my ass.

Bitch #2 – Was as nice as pie, and after listening to my story, said she would put me in touch with a supervisor. After being on hold for 40 minutes (I timed it on my cell phone), I got disconnected.

Bitch #3 – Again, nice as pie. Told be she COULD get me a Monday appointment, but I needed to be in my apartment between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM to wait for the technician. I told her there was NO WAY I was going to miss a day of work to wait for the cable guy. She said she felt sorry for constantly putting me on hold, and said she would speak to a supervisor and call me back. I can’t believe I fell for it. Needless to say, the skanky BEEYOTCH never called me back.

I HATE TIME WARNER CABLE!

Note: You all better HOPE I get my cable back before Wednesday…if I DON’T, there won’t be any Top Chef Recap this week!
