Best 2010 TV Moment - Russell Goes On the Air

I agree wholeheartedly with my friend Wonder Man on this one: Russell Edgington, the Vampire King of Mississippi on True Blood, had this year's greatest TV moment. It was the perfect combination of terrifying and campy:

I hadn't heard that HBO was remaking one of the greatest movies of all time - Mildred Pierce - and turning it into a miniseries until yesterday, and I'm shocked and appalled.  Listen, I like Kate Winslet (above) just as much as the next queen - but we're talking about Mildred EFFIN' Pierce here (AKA "Mildred FIERCE")!! This was the role Joan Crawford was born to play!! Furthermore, Evan Rachel Wood (Queen Sophie-Anne on True Blood) plays the spoiled, ungrateful daughter.  Blasphemy!!

The next thing you know they'll be remaking Psycho with Anne Heche in the Janet Leigh role and Vince Vaughn as Norman Bates!!  Oh ... wait ... nevermind ...

Speaking of True Blood, did anyone watch the finale? It kinda left me flat - too many open story lines, including some I don't care about at all (Jason/Crystal, Sam/his brother, and Arlene/her demon baby, for example).  I just want to see Eric, Pam, Alcide and Lafayatte (and his hot Brujo) and not so much everyone else.  Oh, and I also love Hoyt (and his crazy Mama) and Jessica.

Last Night On TV

First of all, how CUTE was Kevin Alejandro (below) as Lafayette's new love on True Blood?!?  Kevin was one of the first guys I ever featured on DavidDust - BACK IN 2007.  I can't wait to see more of him and Lafayette together.

Best line of the light - Alcide's girlfriend to Sookie:

"You're f*%@king my Wolf, betch - in MY House! ... I will CUT YOU!!"

And then on Design Star they designed rooms in two different NYC firehouses.  One of the firehouses was Squad 18 - the fire company closest to my job (below).  Squad 18 lost seven men on 9/11 - including one firefighter named Manuel Mojica Jr., who I saw many times hanging out in front of the firehouse.  I was so sad when I found out Manuel was one of the firefighters who had died - even though I didn't even know him.  I wrote a remembrance of him HERE.

Werewolf Softball

True Blood werewolf Joe Manganiello competed in the Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game over the weekend.  And, I might add, he look damned good while doing so - although he needs to lose the Red Sox cap.

Catching Up On True Blood

Yesterday I finally got caught up with True Blood and I got my first glimpse of werewolf Alcide Herveaux (above) - played by the über-sexy Joe Manganiello (see a previous post HERE).  Oh ... Em ... Gee - that werewolf makes ME want to howl at the moon.

Actor Joe Manganiello, 33, has been around for a while - appearing in movies like Spiderman and on television in How I Met Your Mother, ER, and One Tree Hill.  But Manganiello was recently cast in his biggest role yet - as sexy werewolf Alcide Herveaux in the third season of True Blood.  Looks like perfect casting to me.
