Anyone Speak Parseltongue ??

From Gothamist:
New York's Bronx Zoo has shut down the World of Reptiles after a poisonous Egyptian cobra went missing Friday afternoon. The 20-inch cobra was being held at an off-exhibit enclosure that is not open to the public.

Yikes! I guess the next time Maddie and I go to the Zoo, we'll have to wear our specially-made Pith Helmets - which come equipped with sophisticated reptile-tracking radar:

First Caturday of 2011

Happy New Year! Happy Caturday!! Let's celebrate the first Caturday of 2011 by watching the adorable Bronx Zoo tiger cubs (which I got to see this past October) frolicing in the snow after Blizzageddon (via Gothamist):

PAPIveillance - Bronx Zoo Edition

One of the great things (and there are many) about the Bronx Zoo is the plethora of hot Papis!  Since the zoo is located in the "Boogie-Down Bronx" - home of this city's hottest menfolk - many of the visitors are local fathers taking their kids out for the day. And there is NOTHING hotter than a doting dad (see above).  In addition to dads, there are guys taking their girlfriends to the zoo, the cute employees, and various international tourists - creating a perfect storm of gorgeousness...

Now you know why the Bronx Zoo is one of my favorite places in the entire city.

The Bronx Zoo

Maddie and I had a fantastic Saturday at the Bronx Zoo with the Lions and (Baby) Tigers and (Sleepy Polar) Bears - OH MY!

Ann Coulter, is that YOU?

True love

It's good to be the king

Sleepy bear.

The baby tigers were ADORABLE!

Maddie made a friend who was fond of pizza crust.

The end of a long day

"Hello Ladies. Look At Your Man ..."

"... now look at Maddie. Back to your man - now back to Maddie ... ... He's on a Camel".

Yes, that is the Mistress Maddie taking a spin on a Camel at the Bronx Zoo this afternoon. Good times...

Tiger Triplets at the Bronx Zoo

According to Gawker, there are two new sets of tiger triplets at the fantastic Bronx Zoo. The Malayan tiger cubs (below) were abandoned by their mother and rescued by the Wildlife Conservation Society (which operates the zoo), while the Amur tiger triplets (above) are still being nursed by their 300-lb. mama Sasha.

I hope to be able to see these cuties up-close-and-personal when Maddie and I go to the zoo tomorrow ... followed by a night of debauchery (I'm sure we'll end up at "The Urges"). It has been FOREVER since Maddie and I had a "girls night out" - just the two of us - so it ought to be quite interesting. Please have bail money available in case we call.

As a result, posting will be light until Monday. Tonight I have to clean my apartment, and the rest of the time I plan on being quite DRONK. Hmmmmmm ... I wonder if they serve Bacardi Limon at the zoo?...

Does Mistress Maddie Know About This?

For you new DustBunnies, Maddie is a BLOGGER and one of my dearest friends - who happens to refer to "her" husband as "The Boy Toy". She better hold onto the Boy Toy she has now, because she's not going to be able to run to McDonald's and pick up another one anytime soon - judging by this sign.

Speaking of Maddie, we are scheduled to meet up next weekend for a trip to the Bronx Zoo, followed by a night on the town (AKA bellying up to the bar at "The Urges"). And I cannot wait.

Maddie and I have been trying to go to the Zoo for YEARS, but every time she comes up we end up getting too drunk to make it out of the apartment before 2pm the next afternoon. Thus missing out on the Lions and Tigers and Bears. Oh my.

This time we have a plan. Maddie will drive to NYC on Saturday MORNING (we won't be hanging out on Friday night), and we'll go straight to the Bronz Zoo. THEN we'll go out and get our drink on.

What could POSSIBLY go wrong with such a foolproof plan???

Cute Kittehs

Over the years I've encountered MANY adorable residents of The Bronx (many of whom I've dated), but these lion cubs from the Bronx Zoo are the absolute cutest things EVAH ...
