I LOVE Getting Presents!

I wanted to mention the generosity of two Dust Bunnies who actually took the time to buy/make/send/give me gifts over the weekend.

First of all, my top Dust Bunny from Toronto - code named "Dust Bunny Judge Judy" - recently read about my red kitchen and asked me for my address. Over the weekend I received a lovely red mail caddy and the most adorable "devil" digital clock/timer. Thank you, Your Honor!!! And I am buying you a drink the next time you're in NYC - you better call me.

And my darling "sister" - the Mistress Maddie - made her famous Sand Tart cookies and brought them to me this weekend. Maddie even put NUTS on some of them, because she knows how much I love nuts!!!! And let me tell you, that huge box of cookies is almost gone. Or "almost all", as we would say back in Central Pennsylvania.

Thanks to both of you for being so thoughtful!!

Valentine's Hangover

I am currently posting this from my roommate's bedroom. My good friend, the Mistress Maddie, is passed out on my couch in the living room - so I'll try not to be too noisy.

I spent Friday night in a coughing and cleaning frenzy, preparing for my guests. Then on Saturday morning I got up at 7:30 am and washed four loads of laundry (blankets, sheets, towels, etc). I picked up Maddie and The Boy Toy at Penn Station at 11:30 am, and we headed over to Kailyn's hotel. This is the first time any of us had met Kailyn, and she was just as fun and gorgeous as we thought she would be.

We cabbed it up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art - which is one of my favorite places in NYC. In addition to seeing paintings by Rembrandt, Renoir, Warhol, and sculpture by Rodin - we got to see the museum's impressive collection of Medieval armor and the Egyptian Temple of Dendur (which some of you will remember from Project Runway).

We came back to the apartment, ordered a liquor delivery and a Chinese food delivery, and ate/drank and hung out. At some point in the evening, we went over to a local gay bar - Barrage - and had a few more cocktails. Kailyn was quite the popular girl, chatting with the gays and having a good time. This gal has certainly spent her fair share of time in gay bars before. And she certainly has the right attitude for NYC...

Then it was time to go home and pass out. Once we are up, Maddie, Kailyn and I are going to head downtown to my restaurant for brunch. The Boy Toy had to get up early and head back to PA.

I must say, it was best Valentine's Day I had in a while.

Nald's McDo

This is where I'm taking my weekend guests for dinner tomorrow night - Nald's McDo. I just hope the restaurant isn't fully booked with Valentine's Day reservations. Nothing but the best for my friends - that's my motto.

As you may know, I get to meet Dust Bunny Kailyn from San Francisco this weekend, and my good friends the Mistress Maddie and the Boy Toy will be joining us from Philadelphia. We plan on spending the day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (as featured on Project Runway!), do a little shopping at Century 21 (designer clothes at discount prices!) and then have a few dozen cocktails somewhere. Who knows, we may even come across a go-go guy or two...

My apartment is still gross (my cold has really zapped my energy level) so my goal tonight is to make my place "less gross". If I can just get it to an acceptable level of grossness, then I will be happy. Again, nothing but the best...
