President Obama To Fundraise at Chez Wintour Tonight

President Obama will be in NJ and NYC today/tonight - so we're girding our loins (Devil Wears Prada reference!) for traffic gridlock.  One of the events the President will attend is a $30,000 per head fundraiser at the West Village townhouse of Anna Wintour (above).  According to Gothamist, Calvin Klein is also slated to attend, so Anna's obviously offering an open bar and hot waiters.

I was thinking about attending myself, but unfortunately I'm about $29,990 short of the funds required for admittance.

Broadway Bares - The 20th Anniversary

This year Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS celebrates the 20th Anniversary of their Broadway Bares show with a new skinstravaganza called Strip-ology.  For those of you who aren't familiar, Broadway Bares is an annual event which combines the naughtiness of burlesque with the razzle-dazzle of Broadway - and features the hottest chorus boys (and girls) in show business.

For more information and/or to buy tickets for this year's June 20th show at Roseland (which, coincidentally, is the same venue as The Black Party), go HERE.

Here are some pics from last year's Broadway Bares ...

Congratulations, Miss Ginger!

Fabulous Houston Drag Diva (and Dust Bunny) Miss Ginger Grant held her first annual Roundup this weekend. The fundraiser, a benefit for Legacy Community Health Services - ended up raising $10,000!!

Congratulations on a truly impressive amount of money raised. Legacy Community Health Services provides health services to the GLBT and HIV-positive communities, as well as other residents of Houston - services which are badly needed (and usually underfunded). That $10,000 will do a world of good in Miss Ginger's community.

I am so proud of our fabulous Miss Ginger - I just wish I could have been there to show my support. For more pictures, check out Str8 Up With A Twist HERE. And, as always, check out The Fabulous Blog of Miss Ginger Grant HERE.

Dust Bunnies For Obama

To My Darling Dust Bunnies -

I try not to ask you - my loyal readers - for much, but it's time for me to start making some noise. This upcoming election is too important for us to ignore - and right now the right-wing Republican attack machine is energized and raising money like crazy. Lying Sarah Palin has the Fundamentalist Crazies FIRED UP, and their money-machine is going into overdrive. In addition, the McCain/Palin campaign is eligible for $84 million in federal election funding to spend in the General Election.

The Obama campain, on the other hand, has decided to forego federal funding and is relying on us - the people who care about the direction this country is going in - to keep his campaign running. The New York Times reported today that Obama's recent fundraising goals are NOT being met (read it here).

Therefore, it is up to US to do what we can - so I've started a Dust Bunnies for Obama fundraising page on ActBlue. Please contribute what you can, and show your Dust Bunny spirit.

for Dust Bunnies For Obama

Most of you know that I don't have a pot to piss in when it comes to money - but I've started off with a $50 donation - which is what I can afford right now. Even if it's only $5.00, it will help - and it only takes 1 minute of your time.

Please do what you can.

Love and Hugs to you all!!

XOXOXOXO

David
