"A blog May Have At Most 2000 Labels"

Has anyone else who uses Blogger received the following error message when trying to do a new post?...

A blog may have at most 2000 labels

I know Wonder Man has BLOGGED about it - but has anyone else had this problem? Apparently Blogger decided last week to enforce a 2000 Label limit - and I guess I am over the limit. This sucks, because the labels (the "tags" you see at the bottom of each post) we use help search engines know what our blog posts are about. If posts are not labeled, it is harder for search engines to find appropriate posts - which results in less traffic to your blog.

So, for now, I can only use labels that I have previously used. But, for instance, if I do a "Hunk of the Day" post tomorrow and the guy's name is "Carlos Caliente", I can't label my post "Carlos Caliente" - because it's a new label. I can, however, label the post "Hunk of the Day" - a less-specific label I've already used.

Wonder Man posted a LINK to a Blogger Forum where this situation was discussed.

You know, I REALLY need to get www.DavidDust.com up and running. I already own the domain, but unfortunately I am CLUELESS when it comes to HTML and everything else. If there is anyone out there who wants to help me modernize, redesign and improve DavidDust, I can't offer any money - but I could publicize the HELL out of your work. After all, DavidDust averages about 5,000 page-views per DAY - so a "button" ad on my sidebar would be seen by literally thousands of people each week. Feel free to send me an email with your ideas: daviddust@gmail.com

yes I reached my limit on labels a long time agao too. What with Blogger closing a lot of gay oriented blogs I need a dot com address too but like you I'm clueless also when it comes to HTML.

Blogger and Google have both gone kind of regulation crazy. Ugh.

I'd volunteer, but I know nothing about how to run ones own blog. I would imagine it requires some sort of additional software that's not html based. Alas, all I know is html. And graphics. So if you need help with those, just holler.

It's a mess and a great way to lose blogs. Are they Mad?

I didn't know there is a limit! I have no idea how many I've used, but I'll be careful in the future.

I think Blogger might allow you to export your blog to your own domain. I've thought about doing that, too, but have never taken the time to investigate it. Maybe you can do a little checking into that. It's a lot easier than it used to be, and I'm not sure if it's necessary to know a bunch of HTML. Good luck! XOXO

uh-ho! I must be getting close.
Gorilla Boy once built me a site that mimicked Blogger but that was when he was home and dependent on me for food...

Hey I sent you an email with some thoughts. I can help you move to a dedicated server running WordPress if you like. Check your email and lets talk.

Gurl-
I used to maintain an HTML site and it was a pain in the ass!!! And not in a good way!
My suggestion would be to go through your old tags and delete the least used and most meaningless ones (the "rants"- we all have them!) to open up tags for better stuff!

I don't label, so I don't have that. Now I know about it though.

With all the fans and minions you have, someone will help you with your website. You know I can't!

Love you! Love your labels!
