As I said yesterday, I got myself a new apartment. Froggy asked about the map I posted with an arrow pointing to Astoria (my new neighborhood). No, I did not make that map, but I did make the one above showing my new place, old place, and my job.
In my current apartment, it takes me about a half-hour to get to work (door-to-door). I would imagine my new commute would be about an hour door-to-door. So it's really not too bad. The subway stop at my new apartment is only 3 stops away from Manhattan.
As far as moving goes, yes Miss Ginger, since I suffer from a lack of an automobile (and free Lesbian labor), I'll have to hire some sort of mover. As far as Oscar and Dusty, they will be transported via taxi - I don't want to have to subject them to the subway.

You are gold! Very glad you have a place to lay your head. And the kitties. Hangeth in there!
This map definitely helps, and I'm glad the other one is on here, too. I can put this in perspective now. How much do you have to move? Did you get rid of a lot of stuff?
Oh, and I also wondered if there's an Arby's nearby.
This is great news! A hell of a way to finally downsize, (toss that shit OUT) but everything happens for a reason. Now get packin sweetcheeks and once your settled and in for a while, we can FINALLY go to the Bronx Zoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS- And for Queens sake, I sure hope their is a Arby's near by.
Just remember to keep your humor as you go through this time.
