International DustBunny Relations

Tonight I have the pleasure of meeting another DustBunny blogger - the fabulous JS from Etalons et Citations. JS is from France - so this will be my first International Dust Bunny meeting! (Unless you count Canada, which is about as international as Montana).

Anywhore, our meeting will take place tonight at the General Assembly of the BunnyNation - "The Urges" at 10 pm. Feel free to join us if you're in the neighborhood!

Visiting With Friends

Over the past two weeks I've had the pleasure of not one, but TWO visits from dear blogger friends of mine.

The Minx came to town a while back, and we shared a nice dinner near my job in the Village. I love it when Ms. Minx visits, because she researches and choses restaurants for us based on her culinary knowledge (and my likes/dislikes). Check out the Minx's post HERE for more about our lovely meal.

And yesterday I got to see dear Dan - and finally got to meet his adorable husband, Luis. I met Dan at the bar in his hotel for a drinky-drink, then we met up with Luis and went for gay brunch in Hell's Kitchen. We actually ate at a restaurant directly across the street from my old apartment - and the food (and bartenders) were fabulous. Yes, we dined at the bar (instead of in the dining room) - does that surprise you??

So who's coming to visit me next??...

"A Blogger Walks Into A Bar..."

Ouch. This sign was spotted outside an Austin, TX bar during SXSW - a conference attended by many of the top bloggers in the blogosphere. Source.

Hottie of the Day - Dylan

The adorable Dylan is a blogger who lives in San Francisco. Much to my delight, he has recently been posting various self-portraits of himself on his BLOG. What a cutie!

The last picture may jog some of your memories of the first Dylan post I did, when I referred to him as “Rubber Boy”.

"Excuse Me Sir, What's a Ding-ie?"

When I walked out of work last night, I encountered a street vendor that I had never seen before - the Wafels & Dinges truck. I pretty much could figure out what a "Wafel" was, but I had never heard of "Dinges" before.

So I walked up to the nice man in the truck and asked him what a "ding-ie" was. He chuckled and explained that "dinges" (pronounced "DING-uhs" not "Ding-ie") is a Flemish slang word for "stuff". He went on to say that in this case, dinges refers to the various toppings that one can have on their "Wafels".

No, I didn't order anything - but I always love learning new dinges! Actually, I did some research on the intranetz and found out that in addition to slinging waffles with "stuff", these friendly Wafflers are also Bloggers! Check out their blog HERE.

Commendable Comments

As I’ve mentioned many times before, I love getting comments – just like most other Bloggers. And I’ve found that you – members of the great BunnyNation – leave some of the most intelligent, hysterical, and sweetest comments EVAH! Thanks to each and every one of you who has taken the time to type a few words here on the blog.

In order to highlight some of the most notable commentary, I’d like to introduce a new series of posts called “Commendable Comments”. I will do this occasionally to highlight the best-of-the-best comments from the previous few days.

One of the funniest comments I’ve gotten in a while comes from awesome Blogger Miss Alaineous. In response to THIS post…

… she remarked:

oh shit gives a new meaning to the phrase 'standing o'

ROFLMAO!!!

In reference to today’s “Daddy of the Day” – Jaime Rodrigo

Jeve (AKA John & Steve) left this comment:

We do a daddy of the month as well on our blog...a little different i guess. : )

It turns out their blog is about GAY PARENTING! Yep, they’re working with a whole different “Daddy” concept.

Finally, I would just like to thank the members of the BunnyNation for “having my back” when I was faced with the threat of a potentially angry Magician. If you recall, I received an email from Max Maven (below) after I snarked about him in my last Top Chef Masters recap. In response to his email, I did a blog post saying that I was afraid I might get turned into a toad! Here were some of your “supportive” words…

Psychomom“don’t fuck with magic”

Howard - "ROFLMAO. David is askerred!"

The Minx - "LOL!!! he might want to saw you in half or something...."

Dan"Girl - you done it now!"

Ken - "Might pay to lay low for a while, at least until the next episode :o)"

Nutwood Beth - "Ruh-roh! David, we hardly knew ye!"

Frogponder - "LOLOLOLOLOL! Honey, you can come live in my pond."

Joy - "You're doomed! Doomed as doomed can be, I must say! (in my best Ed Grimley voice). I'm sure FP will let you live in her pond and provide a nice home for you."

THANKS A LOT, people! I’m glad that the possibility of an Amphibian David Dust amuses you!

Only my dear Mother tried to defend me … in her own special way:

Deare Mr. Maven - Please don't hurt my little boy -- he didn't mean no harm. Even when he was just a little dust mite he didn't know when to shut up his mouth (or his laptop). I don't know why he is just so ignernt but please don't hurt him -- he's the only gay son I have!

Thanks Mama Bunny – I love you too.

Featured Dust Bunny Blogger - Kitty Bradshaw

Kitty Bradshaw is a fabulous blogger I've been following for over a year. Her self-titled BLOG shows us her NYC life as seen through her California born-and-raised eyes. Kitty also blogs about popular culture and politics, as well as reviewing movies, theater, and local restaurants. Check out Kitty Bradshaw HERE.

Kitty is also a huge Twittererererer (??) ... Twit (??) ... um ... she's always up on the Twatter. As a matter of fact, she's closing in on 2,000 Twitter followers - now that's popularity. And Kitty is the inventor, moderator, and Queen of "Twitter After Dark", where the grown-ups talk about grown-up things after the kiddies have gone to sleep. Follow her on Twitter HERE, and ask her about the "Thriller" :)

So, imagine how excited I was to actually meet the Diva in person!! We had a lovely, romantic, candle-lit dinner at a discreet VIP location. Kitty shared her knowledge about blogging (she has been networking via computer for years) and she gave me some really good advice.

To try to entice her into a second date, I am making Kitty Bradshaw my Featured Dust Bunny Blogger! (check her out on the right sidebar). Don't ever leave me, Kitty!!
