Eurovision

I had heard the term "Eurovision" ever since I started checking out blogs. But up until now, I had no idea what Eurovision actually was.

Eurovision is simply a pop song contest, which pits member-countries against each other. The competition is televised and gets HUGE ratings in Europe and beyond. This has been going on since 1956 - and past winners include Abba, Celine Dion, Katrina and the Waves, and Lulu.

I had no idea how big of a deal this all was - until Dust Bunny Marker did a Eurovision post on his blog featuring out-gay Mexican-American living in Germany, Oscar Loya...

Hola Papi! The adorable Loya sang vocals for this year's German entry - Alex Swings Oscar Sings. When I saw THE VIDEOS on Marker's blog, I just had to find out more about Eurovision. Check it out - but be warned, it is cheesetastically and fabulously "European". To see this year's winner (Norway), go HERE.

It is such a shame that we only have the relatively tame American Idol here in the states, while Europe has the EXTRAVAGANZA that is Eurovision. Color me jealous.

I have an idea: maybe the United States could compete next year! We'll send over Adam Lambert and the entire cast of RuPaul's Drag Race. They might as well send us the trophy (or whatever it is they give away) now...

Peace, Bitch!

"Peace, Bitch" is the new Dust Bunny all-purpose greeting ... like "Aloha" or "Shalom" or "Play on, Playa!". This was inspired by the bestest show on television, Tool Academy. And if you don't like it, blame Dust Bunny Marker - it was all HIS idea... :)

So use it proudly and often ... Peace, Bitches!!

UPDATE: Dust Bunny Kailyn mentioned the proper hand gesture to use while saying the International Dust Bunny Greeting ("Peace, Bitch"). To illustrate, here is the Beeyotch from Tool Academy showing the proper gesture. We don't know why, but this the way it's done...

Sideways, Bitches.

White Meat Monday - Drinking With Dust Bunnies

I had the pleasure of meeting another Dust Bunny over the weekend - the handsome and charming Marker! Marker was one of my earliest readers, and not only did I get to meet him, I also got to meet his equally handsome and charming boyfriend. They were in NYC for the weekend, and made time for a few (dozen) drinks in my neighborhood with me on Friday night. Here is a picture of the three of us:

Don't we look great!?! Although I don't remember taking my shirt off - or the daylight - or being outside - but HONESTLY ... that's us. Okay, maybe that's not EXACTLY us - but we looked very similar to these three gentleman. In fact, it's positively uncanny how closely we resemble them. Honest. ;)

What a fun time! We dished and drank for a couple of hours before I stumbled home, and they jumped into a cab. I have to say, Marker is just as fabulous, intelligent, and funny as I knew he would be. Check out his blog HERE.

Speaking of drinking with Dust Bunnies - I hope to meet Dust Bunny Kailyn over President's Day Weekend (she has scheduled a vacation in NYC). We're even trying to get my "sister" - Mistress Maddie - to come hang out with us. And by the way, if anyone else wants to party over President's Day - the more the merrier!! FYI: if you meet me in person, you get ALL the good DavidDust dish!

I just adore my Bunnies...
