Lady Bunny's Show Was A BLAST!

Bunny is one sick and twisted Queen - and I mean that in the absolute very best sense. Her show was a scream.

Lady Bunny - That Ain't No Lady

I read on Lady Bunny's blog yesterday that she'll be starring in her own one-drag-queen show - "That Ain't No Lady" - every Tuesday during the month of October...

The raunchy, demented drag diva of Wigstock fame presents her first full-length one wo-man show in almost a decade at the popular latin nightspot La Escuelita every Tuesday in October at 8PM. Fast-paced and action-packed with glitzy costumes and Bunny's trademark gravity-defying bouffant wig, THAT AIN'T NO LADY is a cabaret designed for a night club crowd--no lengthy monologues or sappy show tunes here. For mature audiences who enjoy irreverent humor!

Since Maddie is a HUGE Bunny fan, I texted her about the show. Turns out that Tuesday, October 25th (the final night) is Maddie's BIRFDAY!! So we're thinking about a small outing. This could get ugly.

BTW - The last time I was with Maddie and I we encountered Bunny, there was extremely drunken talk of "branding irons" and Harrisburg (PA) drag queens. This took place in the Ladies Room at the old Palladium back in the mid nineties. Baby Jeebus help us...

Sooooooooo ... I'm thinking of possibly recapping Drag U. Whatdya think? Will anyone be watching?? I know the show was kind of a dud last season - so is recapping even worth it??

I walked into my bank today, and proceeded to get into line.

There was just one lady in front of me, an Asian lady who was trying to exchange yen for dollars.

It was obvious she was a little irritated . . . She asked the teller, "Why it change? Yesterday, I get two hunat dolla fo yen. Today I only get hunat eighty? Why it change?"

The teller shrugged his shoulders and said, "Fluctuations."

The Asian lady glared at the teller and responded angrily, "Fluc you white people too!"

HA HA HA HA HA HA!! ... {{clears throat and composes myself}} ...

Bunny should be ASHAMED of herself for posting a joke like that!!!!  It was just SO BAD that I had to repost it to my blog just to show you how HORRIBLE it was!!... ROFLMAO!!! ...  UNFORGIVABLE!!

RuPaul's Drag U - Tonight on Logo

Guess who’s back? Yup, you guessed it. The radiant RuPaul and her Drag Race divas/ professors are coming back to TV in the new Logo series RuPaul’s Drag U.

In the drag-tastic spinoff, RuPaul’s Drag Race veterans are taking biological women to school. Drag U professors – Ongina, Shannel, Tammie Brown, Jujubee, Morgan McMichaels, Raven and Pandora Boxx – will teach some lucky ladies (who need some glamour and a self-esteem boost) the art of being fierce to the tip of their heel-toting toes.

As an added bonus, my favorite drag queen of all time - Lady Bunny - will be featured on RuPaul's Drag U!!!  It's about time that Ho got herself on TV!!

Amazing Drag Vocalist - Sade Pendarvis

I just saw this video on Lady Bunny's Blog.  It is from Wigstock (2005) - the late, lamented DRAGSTAVAGANZA that was run and MC'd by Lady Bunny (who is featured at the beginning of the clip above).

Drag Queen Sade Pendarvis takes the Doobie Brother's "Takin It To The Streets" and makes it her own.  Pendarvis really has an amazing voice - watch this.

The Queens of Drag: NYC

This sounds like a lot of fun. From a Press Release I received this week...

Film and TV producer Larry Kennar (L Word, Barbershop and 50 First Dates), Season 4 Project Runway designer Jack Mackenroth and award-winning producer/director and owner of Colt Studio Group, John Rutherford, have come together to produce a television extravaganza called The Queens of Drag: NYC that explores and exploits the glamorous and ghetto-fabulous drag queen scene of New York City.

Drag legend Lady Bunny will reign supreme in this all-star cast of drag divas, which includes the ageless and evergreen Hedda Lettuce, uber-glam Sherry Vine, the hilarious Bianca Del Rio, sexpot songstress Peppermint and the classless and campy Mimi Imfurst. Breakout queens nipping at their platform heels like Epiphany, Logan Hardcore, Chandelier, Dallas DuBois and Celso will join these ladies of illusion.

First of all, I am down with anything Jack Mackenroth is doing - he is cute and talented and he might just be the nicest guy in whole entire world. But then they throw Lady Bunny and Hedda Lettuce into the mix?!? I AM SO THERE.

Note to Jack and the other producers: I am available for a full-time judging gig. You can think of me as a super-sized Michael Kors ... without the fashion experience. And I work CHEAP - just throw me a couple Arby's coupons and a bottle of Bacardi Limon and I'm in...

The Queens of Drag: NYC starts filming this month. As of right now they don't yet have a TV outlet, although the press release says "multiple networks" have expressed interest.

... The Fabulous MISS GINGER GRANT will be making an appearance on Saturday Night!!! Up until now I've only met Boy Ginger, but I've just been informed that MISS GINGER will be going to Escuelita with us on Saturday night (and hosting the pre-party in her hotel room).
