Amazing Drag Vocalist - Sade Pendarvis
I just saw this video on Lady Bunny's Blog. It is from Wigstock (2005) - the late, lamented DRAGSTAVAGANZA that was run and MC'd by Lady Bunny (who is featured at the beginning of the clip above).
Drag Queen Sade Pendarvis takes the Doobie Brother's "Takin It To The Streets" and makes it her own. Pendarvis really has an amazing voice - watch this.

Bear Fashion
I saw this over at Joe.My.God, and I just had to share. This is German designer Walther van Beirendonck's spring collection.
I know I feature pictures of regular models every day - but some of the models in this fashion show are WAY hotter (in my opinion). Woof!

Mario Cantone on Joy Behar
As always, Mario Cantone is hysterical in this clip - invoking Cher, Liza, and Bette Davis.
I've always liked Mario professionally, but for some reason he always seemed (to me, anyway) like a total biatch in real life. I have absolutely nothing to base this upon, except for a few times I saw him on the street. And the time he gave me the stanky side-eye when I was upgraded to first class on that flight to New Orleans for Southern Decadence, and he wasn't.
Take it on back to coach class, Funnyman!!!

Patti LuPone - Rainbow High
Here is a grainy video of Patti LuPone performing Rainbow High from the musical Evita circa 1980. As I mentioned earlier, even though I only had the cast album and never saw it onstage, I choreographed an imaginary drag routine to this song by the time I was 13. A routine, I might add, that has yet to be performed in front of an audience.
Maybe during DDBW III???...

Music Notes with Howard ... Matt Fishel - Football Song

It's been a while since music guru (and DavidDust Music Editor) Howard checked in with a Music Notes post. After all, he's been quite busy building his excellent MUSIC BLOG - and that takes time.
But lucky for us, good things come to those who wait. Howard has found an adorable song/video from an adorable and talented British artist - Matt Fishel. I DARE you to watch the video below and NOT smile ... it's practically impossible...

Matt Fishel - Football Song - by Howard
Finding Matt Fishel and the Football Song seemed almost random, yet I am very grateful. Somewhere along the way, I followed Matt Fishel on Twitter, and this past weekend I saw a Tweet with a link, and I clicked on it. I don't really remember how that happened, but it did. And I have to say Matt is very cute [see above]! There was this video.
Well, I watched it a couple of times, smiling and enjoying the heck out of it. The production values are pretty good for an indie venture, so I was impressed. But ultimately, it is the song itself that impressed me, for it is smart, clever and funny. I couldn't resist, and went to Fishel's MySpace page to find out a bit more, and found a link to buy some songs. I, of course, clicked on it, signed up for an account, and bought both albums by the London-based singer.

So far, I've listened to a couple of the songs and like them muchly. But once I have had a better chance to pay attention, I will let you know about them. Until then, you can find out more about Matt on his MySpace page here. His music is available at All4ArtistsDotCom. You can purchase Fishel's music here.

The Electric Company

I wasn't feeling too great today (my stomach has a bad case of the gurgles) - so I left work early. I promptly came home, plopped down on the couch, and turned on the television for an afternoon of vegging.
Daytime TV is a rare treat for me - since I am usually at work - so I spent the afternoon watching stuff I don't normally get to see. And I was really surprised to see The Electric Company - a show from my childhood - still airs on PBS. But I was bummed that the show is completely up-to-date and has long-since dropped the intro I remember from the 70's ...

Obama Healthcare Plan In Four Minutes
Please take four minutes and watch the video above - and then pass it on. Everyone needs to know the basics of President Obama's healthcare plan, and how much it will benefit the people of this country. And it's time we stop letting the Right Wing lie to the American people about what "Obamacare" is and what it is not.
Notice there is nothing mentioned about "government-encouraged euthanasia", "huge tax increases", or "free healthcare for illegal immigrants". There is no paranoia and no fear-mongering, just the FACTS. Pass it on...

"Plees Dun Stup Dee Moos-eek!"

I have died and gone to heaven. Over the weekend, the Broken-English Diva (Diba?) herself, Charo, performed during the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. This Charo performance had it all...

Wildwood, New Jersey

In honor of my journey yesterday to the Garden State, I present to you some footage from a early 90's documentary about Wildwood, NJ. My favorite quote: "You always got the CHECK to CASH!" (while pointing at her 'gina). Keep it classy Miss New Jersey ...
The week after I graduated from high school, myself and a group of friends spent "Senior Week" in a rented house in Wildwood. Next door to us were girls who looked EXACTLY like the ladies who appear in this video - right down to the outfits. The gals were kinda skanky, but their boyfriends were gorgeous.
And if I remember correctly, MY 17-year-old "check" almost got cashed a couple of times that weekend...
