New Year's Eve Just Won't Be The Same
A few weeks ago MTV announced they were planning on putting Jersey Shore's Snooki into a plastic hamster ball and dropping her in Times Square on New Year's Eve - which would coincide with an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for group fist-pumping. Seriously.
But the powers-that-be here in NYC came to their senses and put the kibosh on the whole sordid affair - refusing to grant MTV the proper permits. So THAT'S what Mayor Bloomberg has been working on instead of snow removal! Question: Which exact PERMITS does one apply for when one is looking to put a idiot/midget from Jersey into a plastic ball in order to drop her while thousands of people fist-pump in unison?? Someone please get back to me on this.
Preparing for Snooki in Seaside Heights
Anywhore, TMZ is reporting that MTV has relocated the Snooki Habitrail Hamster New Year's Eve Ball to - where else - the Jersey Shore. Because those 12 people still in Seaside Heights, NJ during the winter need SOMETHING to do on New Year's Eve.

Jersey Shore Stars Demand More $$$
Even though Jersey Shore is over (sad face) - people are still talking about (from left) Pauly D, Ronnie, Sammie, Vinnie, Snooki, JWoww, and The Situation. According to the New York Post, the cast is demanding $10,000 per episode to come back for a Season Two. Reportedly they were paid only "hundreds" per episode for Season One.
I say give it to them. Love 'em or hate 'em, the Jersey Shore kids had people talking like no MTV show in a long time. In fact, the Guidos and Guidettes from "Down the Shore" have reminded MTV that the stars of The Hills were reportedly paid $100,000 per episode. And The Hills doesn't rate nearly as high as Jersey Shore did.
THIS JUST IN: The Duck Phone, however, is holding out for [inserting pinky finger to side of mouth] "ONE MILLION DOLLARS" per episode. That fierce Biatch should get it - she was the real star of the show...
And, lastly, I KNEW there was a reason (besides the big guns) why Ronnie (below) was my favorite Jersey Shore dude. When Ronnie was picked up by police over the summer for assault, he was arrested under the name "Ronnie Ortiz". Word on Teh Interwebz is that Papi Ronnie is half Puerto Rican (his mother's side). Works for me...

Jersey Shore Report

I know many of you hate MTV's Jersey Shore, but I just can't get enough of that trashfest. So, if you posses "standards", or "taste", or "a brain" ... you may want to skip this post.
This week's big story: MTV decided it would NOT air footage of NYC gym teacherdouche Brad Ferro (below right) punching Snooki directly in her pickle-hole. Although many people have already seen it on Teh Innerwebz or on MTV promos for Thursday's episode.

MTV issued this statement:
I love it - MTV all of a sudden has standards. Then how do they explain that horrible Is She Really Going Out With Him show?
And in, perhaps, even BIGGER news ... Jersey Shore cast member Pauly D says that he, unlike a certain cute Alaskan, would have no problem "showing the goods"...
"What happened to Snooki was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing. After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context not to show the severity of this act or resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air Snooki being physically punched in the face."

And, as we found out in this Jersey Shore scene, Pauly would be showing off some JEWELRY in addition to his meat and potatoes...

Ouch! Finally, if you would like to find out your Jersey Shore Nickame, go HERE. Mine is "The Blowout" ... what's yours?

Jersey Shore Causing Drama at MTV

According to Fox News (via Joe.My.God), MTV's Jersey Shore (my newest GUILTY PLEASURE) has caused some major drama at the network. Specifically, Domino's Pizza has pulled out as an advertiser, and some of the MTV publicity staff have received death threats - prompting the network to hire extra security.
The main complaint about the show has been the portrayal of the self-described "guidos and guidettes". Italian-American groups have protested the shows stereotypical portrayal of the cast as sex obsessed, party-obsessed and vain idiots.

Meanwhile, according to Pink Is The New Blog, cast-member Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino (above) vehemently defends his right to be a self-proclaimed “guido” and explains how the term is, in his mind, a compliment
Whatever Dude ... just keep your shirt off and we'll be just fine.

"If you do see the show, you see it used in a loving or a good way. The older generation doesn't understand. These days in New York and New Jersey a 'guido' is a good-looking Italian male that likes to have fun and a 'guidette is a good-looking Italian girl."

Vogue Evolution - Kung Fu Fighting
According to Michael C. - our special America's Best Dance Crew Correspondent - Week 3 of ABDC was about Martial Arts. Specifically, each crew had to interpret a various form of Martial Arts into their dance routine.
The Children of Vogue Evolution had to interpret "Kung Fu"...
I definitely don't think this was their best routine - and neither did the judges. However, Michael said that a majority of the crews this week were sub-par. Did anybody else see the show? What did you think?
I would REALLY like to thank Michael for checking in - even while dealing with a death in his family.

America's Best (Gay) Dance Crew
The new season of America's Best Dance Crew premieres August 9th on MTV - and for the first time there will be an openly gay crew - Vogue Evolution - from NYC.
I have blogged many times about my love of Vogueing (Paris Is Burning truly changed my life) - so watching these "children" WORKING IT THE F*CK OUT makes me smile. Plus, during that short video they sampled two of my favorites - Deee-Lite AND Armand Van Helden's 1990's dance floor hit - Witch Doktor!
I predict TENS ACROSS THE BOARD for Vogue Evolution.

Dust Bunny Reality TV Roundup
There is lots of television news to talk about, so let's get busy. First of all, Design Star returns on July 19 (thanks Frogponder for the info). Below is Dan Vickery of Oregon - one of this season's Designtestants...

Magical Elves (the original producers of Project Runway) are teaming up with Sarah Jessica Parker to come up with a new reality competition show for artists. Think of it as Project Runway with acrylic paints instead of silk charmeuse. More details (including casting information) at Blogging Bravo HERE.

Next, I am happy to report that the cast of Lifetime's Project Runway Season 6 will be announced on July 9th...

Thanks to Blogging Project Runway for the information. Check out Lifetime's first PR video...
Finally, has anyone seen Is She Really Going Out With Him? on MTV? If you miss the douchebags of Tool Academy, you just might like it. According to the website, Is She Really Going Out With Him? is...
"Inspired by the popular website Hot Chicks with Douchebags, Is She Really Going Out With Him? is a hilarious and compelling docu-format show that aims to tear down the mystery behind pop culture's latest unexplainable phenomenon: beautiful and innocent young sweethearts who fall for self-absorbed, overly-tanned, tattoo covered douchebags."
This is Tommy. Tommy is a douchenozzle. But Tommy is also hot - and he knows it. Check out his episode (and others) at the Is She Really Going Out With Him? WEBSITE.

Brody Jenner Looking For Bromance

I've never paid much attention to Brody Jenner (and I never saw The Hills or The Princes of Malibu), but I've always gotten the impression that he is a bit of a douchenozzle. A hot douchenozzle, but nozzle nonetheless. Somehow I don't think Jenner's newest project will do much to change that impression.
On December 29, Brody's new "reality" show - Bromance - premieres. Brody will be auditioning new "bros" to hang with - since his former best friend Spencer Pratt has left him for some Ho. Helping him choose will be current buddies Frankie Delgado (below left) and Taylor "Sleazy T" Mosher (below right).

In selecting his next BFF, Brody wasn't afraid of laying on the homoeroticism. According to E! Online:

Speaking of homoerotic, check out Brody as Robin at Halloween (with Delgado as Batman). Nice package!

Jenner purposely put his wannabe buddies into some compromising and rather uncomfortable situations because he thinks it forced them to show their true characters. For instance, the elimination takes place as they sit knee to knee in a hot tub. "It's kind of homoerotic and I love people saying that," Jenner says in all seriousness, adding, "I'm cool with my sexuality and the gender that I like and I have a beautiful girlfriend. That's why I feel so comfortable with having these awkward guy moments."
