Bootleg Blogging - DDBW Pictures

I don't have access to MY Drunken Dust Bunny Weekend pictures (my computer is fried and I'm blogging from an undisclosed location) - but other Bunnies have posted theirs. Check out the pictures from Miss Ginger, Zombie Mom, Kailyn and Mistress Maddie. And please ignore the "well-fed" blond guy in those posts ... he is a drunk who likes to stuff dollar bills into papi's g-strings. Sicko!

Also, check out Tales of the Sissy and TrannyBeth's ongoing recaps of the weekend. By the way, I have a little something for my Bestest Girlfriend TrannyBeth (who is pictured - with me - above) ...

That's right, it's a Dusty award! Beth is our Dust Blogger of the Week - just because she is so damn fabulous!! After all, she is officially the Empress of the Dust Bunnies.

Our "Surprise" Dust Bunny Weekend Visitor

It is confirmed ... the BunnyNation will be visited by ROYALTY during the Drunken Dust Bunny Weekend (May 29-June 1). The Empress of the Dust Bunnies HERSELF has just purchased her ticket...

Yes bitches, my beloved TRANNYBETH is coming and I am beside myself with excitement!!! Beth has never been to NYC before, and even though we love each other like sisters, we have never met face-to-face. I am going to grab that girl and NOT LET GO!!!

Thanks to Zombie Mom and Kailyn who managed to convince Beth to come. These three lovely ladies will be hosting a cocktail party on Friday night at their hotel ... so plan on being there, bitches!!!

For their role in bringing my girl Beth to NYC, I am naming Zombie Mom and Kailyn as Dust Bunnies of the Week. For their service to the BunnyNation, I would like to present both of these lovely ladies with the coveted "Dusty" award...

Dust Bunny Update

There's a lot going on in the BunnyNation right now...

First of all, the Empresss of BunnyNation - my beloved Beth (AKA "TrannyBeth" - above) basically live-blogged a dreaded trip to the Gyno's office. Read her post HERE. It is hysterical - with plenty of "cooter"-talk.

Dust Bunny Dwight has started a new series on his blog called "SIRveillance". Basically, he takes pictures of hotties on the sly and posts them on his blog. The hunk above is one of his "victims". Check out Dwight Supremacy HERE.

Howard is a loyal Dust Bunny and a former DavidDust Guest Blogger. Howard is also a fan of American Idol (that's him above with Ace Young), so he has teamed up with top Idol Blogger Rickey over at Rickey.org. Howard recaps each Idol episode, and has his recap posted within 30 minutes after the show ends. That bitch works FAST! For ALL things American Idol related - go to Rickey.org.

Joy, my "Auntie Flame" and the Grand Duchess of BunnyNation, fell last night after a theater trip to Nashville. She's fine, but I have threatened to come to Tennessee and wrap her in bubblewrap if she isn't more careful. Check in with our beloved Joy HERE.

Mama Bunny (my Mother) sent a quick email urging us to keep an eye out for the latest Cadbury Easter Egg Commercial...
You may have to watch the Food Network to see it, but try to catch the Cadbury Bunny Auditions commercial. It CRACKS.ME.UP. I love all the wannabe bunnies and I think the commercial only runs for a few weeks before Easter.
Like a good Bunny/Son - I tried watching the Food Network, but that shit gets old FAST. I even tried to find the commercial on YouTube, but all I could find was the old one with the pink bunny laying eggs. If anyone finds the new commercial, please send me the link.

Finally, I posted my interview with artist Rona Green yesterday - read it HERE. And don't forget - you have the opportunity to win the piece of art below - worth more that $350. All you have to do is email me a REAL picture of yourself. Bonus points if the picture includes bunnies or is taken at Arby's.

If you have anything you think I should know about, email me at daviddust@gmail.com. Please keep in mind that I get LOTS of email, and I might not always be able to answer every single one.

>Peace, bitches.

You Are NOT Going To Believe This...

I said yesterday that I would be picking/announcing the winner of the historic Obama editions of the New York Times today. So I found a random number generator online, determined the number of comments (18) - and requested a number between 1 and 18.

The number that came up was #2. When I looked to see who made the second comment, I LOL'd.

It is my beloved TrannyBeth!!

Now before you claim that the contest was fixed, I would like to assure you that I did this by-the-book. I almost selected ANOTHER number, thinking that no one would believe I "randomly" selected my bestest blogger girlfriend as the winner. But that wouldn't be fair to her.

So, darling Beth, I will be mailing you the newspapers. Please keep them safe for your kids, and your grandkids. Who knows, they might even be worth something someday.

XOXOXOXOXOXO

P.S. - If anyone has something of value they would like to plug here on DavidDust, and would be interested in participating in a giveaway - please email me at daviddust@gmail.com. I would really like to do more giveaways in the future, but I need to get my hands on some good crap first.

Happy Blogiversary To Me!!!

Today marks my one year blogiversary! On August 22nd, 2007, I began this journey with the following post:

Is this thing on?

This is my first post. I hope this shit works.

Posted by David Dust at 5:23 PM

Pure poetry, yes? I know… and it’s been downhill ever since…

I started DavidDust exactly 4 days prior to my 40th birthday. I had been reading political blogs since before the mid-term elections of 2006. I had also stumbled across blogs with pictures of hot men like MostProper and Hoodsworld. But then I discovered Joe.My.God – a blog written by a gay New Yorker about New York and gay issues. He seemed to be having a good time with his blog, and his readers were (and are) extremely loyal – some commenting on almost every post. Joe.My.God made me want to start my own blog. So I did.

First of all, I needed a name. I wasn’t feeling very creative, so I happened upon a Band Name Maker. Yes, this is what you would use if you and a couple of buddies started a rock band in your basement. I typed in the word “David” – and out came a list of potential Band Names. One of them was “David Dust”. It sounded like “Fairy Dust” to me, so that’s the name I chose. Although I kind of like some of the other choices:

Fried David
Godless David
Nose of the David Nurse, or
David Queer – but I’d been called that enough in Middle School.

So “DavidDust” it was. At first I had no idea what I wanted to blog about. In fact, I thought I would simply write about my experiences turning 40 years old. I know: BORING! So I decided to post a couple of pictures of a hot Papi I saw on MostProper – and I called him the Daddy of the Day. To this day, HotDeiselLat is still one of my favorites.

Almost immediately I figured out that I would post pictures and stories about things I found interesting. I decided to create the perfect blog – for ME, and no one else. If other people liked it, that simply meant they shared my incredibly good taste. So that’s what I did, posted pictures of hot (usually Latin) guys, and other tidbits.

That was until November 15, 2007 – the day after Project Runway Season 4 premiered.

I had watched Project Runway the night before, and was immediate struck by how much Christian Siriano reminded me of “Mango” – the SNL character played by Chris Kattan. I did a blog search of other bloggers who had written about PR, and commented on their blogs about my “find”. My Mango post got some comments, and some recognition from other bloggers. Well, if you give me some attention, FORGET ABOUT IT, I’m going to keep doing whatever it was you gave me attention for. Positive reinforcement works that way, you know.

So the following week, while at my Dad’s house for Thanksgiving, I watched Project Runway and took some notes – and the following day I posted my “thoughts” on DavidDust. By week 3, I was doing full recaps. And people were starting to read them and make comments! I was in heaven.

I have to say, I completely fell into this recap thing by accident. I had studied journalism in college (although my degree ended up being in the generic “General Arts & Sciences”), and I considered myself a decent writer – but I never wrote anything. I never really wanted to write anything. I never even THOUGHT about writing anything.

Well, Project Runway recaps led to Top Chef (Moana Lisa!), Step It Up and Dance (Sexy Papi Michael Silas!), and Design Star (Mikey V!) recaps. I have been able to improve my writing and entertain myself and others. And some of you came on board as a result of one show or another and never left.

Therefore, the focus of my blog can be summed up into my simple tag line: “Hotties, Recaps, and Gay Stuff”. Simple as that.

My Dust Bunnies are too numerous to mention individually – I would be afraid I’d leave somebody out. You know who you are – if you’ve made a comment, sent me an email, talked to me on the phone, or met me in person – you are a Dust Bunny and therefore a friend. I wake up every day looking forward to hearing from you.

But there are two people I must single out for special recognition. DavidDust is what it is today because of these two wonderful individuals – Beth and Joy.

TrannyBeth and I bonded over Project Runway. We soon became “best girlfriends”, and I could always count on her to comment on my posts. For those non-bloggers out there, you won’t understand this – but comments are pure gold. It is instant gratification. Comments are an acknowledgement of good (or bad) work. I can always count on Beth to make comments and make me smile. I always say: Beth made blogging FUN for me. That is why she is the “Empress of the Dust Bunnies”.

The other person I’d like to recognize is my Darling Joy (AKA “Auntie Flame”). As a semi-retired teacher, she always complimented and encouraged my writing – before I even realized I WAS writing. Joy is also quick with a cute comment – but her encouragement of my writing made me want to write more. Because of this, I would like bestow upon Joy her own title: “Grand Duchess of the Dust Bunnies”. Wear your crown in good health, my darling.

So, thank you to EVERYONE for giving me a great Year One. Now let’s start Year Two…

I love you guys.

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

More Josh...

This is going to make our TrannyBeth squirm. You see, she and her husband are GORGEOUS - and have produced equally gorgeous kids. And since these kids are getting older, the elder boys are starting to resemble some of the hotties on DavidDust - and this freaks poor Beth out. She particularly freaked out about Josh:

First of all, just because I post pics of guys who happen to be attractive young men like your sons, it doesn't mean we are lusting after your offspring. Uncle Tranny would never allow that. Besides, if I had to ban all guys that somewhat resembled your kids, this is what we'd be left with:

Dearest Beth - you don't want to have to look at THIS guy everyday, do you?!?

XOXOXOXOXOXO

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Dust Bunny Moms, to my wonderful Stepmother, and of course, to the Big Kahuna herself -my darling Mama Bunny!!! I hope you all have a lovely day.

Our dear Beth (Happy Mother's Day - you big Tranny!) did a post on her blog recently about motherly advice. This got me thinking about advice MY mother has given me - and she gave me a TON. Unfortunately, I didn’t listen to most of it.

Three simple things my mother told me (that I DID listen to) have really helped me throughout my life. They are:

Learn how to type in High School - it is a skill you will use for the rest of your life. This was before computers were common, so it was NOT obvious advice to a boy in 1980. Yes bitches, that's right, I learned how to type on an IBM Selectric Typewriter - OLD SCHOOL!! As a result, I am quickly and efficiently typing these words right now using proper technique - NOT “hunting and pecking”. Thanks Mom!

Learn Latin - it will help you more than you realize. And no, Mom is not Catholic - just intelligent. I have my excellent “verbal” SAT score and above-average language skills as a result of this advice. Thanks Mom!

Always buy a winter coat that covers your butt. TO THIS DAY I refuse to purchase a heavy coat that does not cover the booty. And my butt is ALWAYS warm. Thanks Mom!

I love you Mom. The picture of the pink roses is for you - I hope you got the real ones I sent!
