Weird Al Yankovic has created a spoof of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" (called "Perform This Way"), and Mama Monster is NOT amused.
On his blog, Yankovic explains that Lady Gaga insisted on hearing the song before giving her blessing, which he claims was unprecedented in his career. Although all profits from the song were to have been donated to the Human Rights Campaign (in a nod to the original song's intention as an "earnest human rights anthem"), Gaga turned down the parody upon hearing it. (While parody artists are protected under the First Amendment, Yankovic traditionally requests permission from the artists he spoofs.)
I think it's pretty funny - check it out for yourself:
UPDATE (via Dlisted): Weird Al updated his blog to say that Lady Gaga's Manager admitted to him that he never played the song for her. Gaga has since heard it, approved it and it will go on his next album. Weird Al has also kept his promise and will donate profits to the HRC.

I agree - very funny, spot on as all humor is based in truth. Lady Gaga needs to take a deep breath. It's out there anyway and will probably make a bigger splash and donation drive.
What froggy said!
i think the song is like a compliment to her. she does what she does. it works for her. don't see what the problem is. me thinks the truth hurts....

Immitation is a form of flattery... I love you Gaga, but fear not nobody is going to think its you and w/ the proceeds going to the HRC - its tough to see how Weird Al is profiteering.
way to be Coolio about this, Stephanie :p
I knew there had to be some publicity stuntness to this; Lady G seems to me to not take it all so seriously. I love Weird Al...but mostly his original stuff like Nature Trial to Hell (in 3-D!)
LG should b*tchslap her manager after all the bad pres and angry screaming queens got their panties in a twist. it's a great parody, and probably gave LG some new costume ideas!
