The National Weather Service has confirmed that two tornadoes hit NYC on Thursday - one in Brooklyn, and one in Flushing, Queens (above), which is only a few subway stops from my apartment. My neighborhood (Astoria), on the other hand, didn't seem to have any serious damage at all - there weren't even any fallen tree branches when I headed to work the next morning. Then again, I was a little HUNG OVER so maybe I just couldn't see anything through my bloodshot eyes.

That's just amazing. I was about 10 miles from a tornado once here in WA and that was plenty close!
It's another sign of the Apocalypse.
