That's A Whole Lot Of Pretty

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC.

Joe Jonas, Zac Efron, Kellan Lutz and Jack Huston (who plays the half-faced guy on Boardwalk Empire) at  Calvin Klein's show on Sunday.

You gotta hand it to the old Girl (Calvin), that Biatch can still fill a room with pretty boys. Always has - always will.

Grandpa Gunn is Askeered of Anna Wintour

It's Fashion Week here in NYC (the Project Runway show was YESTERDAY), and Tim Gunn is hoping to avoid Vogue Editor Anna Wintour at all cost.  This is due to Tim dishing about Anna The Terrible is in his new book - Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making It Work. Tim tells Page Six:
"I'm just the only one brave enough to tell the truth. Lord knows hell would freeze over if I came face to face with her here".

If I were Grandpa, I'd watch my back - that Biatch is EVIL.  Plus, Wintour possesses the Ultimate Weapon - Vogue Contributing Editor Andre Leon Talley (below) and his Gay Death Stare From Hell ...

Christian Siriano - Having a Moment

I was bummed there wasn't a new RuPaul's Drag Race on last night, but Froggy reminded me (via Twitter) that Christian Siriano's special - Having A Moment - was showing on Bravo.

So I watched, and after it was over I became really sad.  Sad because one hour of watching Christian Siriano creating a collection and showing at Bryant Park was 100 times more entertaining than Seasons 6 and 7 (combined) of Project Runway.

I know Christian may get on people's nerves, but in many ways he is responsible for the direction my blog took.  After I got a little positive feedback to MY FIRST PROJECT RUNWAY POST in November of 2007 (in which I referred to Christian as "Mango"), I decided to jump on the Snarky Express.  And I've been going full steam ahead ever since.

Watching Christian reminded me of the good old days when Project Runway designers had personalities and I didn't have to wrack my brain each week trying to put out a funny(ish) recap.  Let me tell you this: I would much rather watch an hour each week of Christian Siriano ordering Chinese takeout and making dresses for B-list actresses.  And I guarantee you that my recaps of that shizz would be HIGH-larious.

Did anybody else watch Having a Moment last night?  What did you think?

Terrell Owens Walks The Runway

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens walked the catwalk this week at the A*Muse show during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.  It looks like T.O. started out wearing his Grandmama's "Going to the Grocery Store" wig (WTF?), but eventually he ditched the wig and showed off his bald-headed sexiness.

Fashion Week - Calvin Klein's Front Row

Who needs Anna Wintour and Nina Garcia when you could put THIS in the front row of your fashion show? From left to right: actors Lee Pace, Jared Leto, Chace Crawford, Ryan Phillippe and new Calvin underwear models Kellan Lutz and Mehcad Brooks attend the Calvin Klein A/W 2010 fashion show in NYC

As I've documented before, Calvin DOES like his eye candy.

Last Night On Project Runway

As I mentioned before, I spent last night soothing a pulled muscle with frozen gnocchi and didn't take notes for a Project Runway recap. But I did watch the show, and I thought it was yet another uneventful episode in a season filled with uneventful episodes.

You may recall that I attended the Project Runway show at Bryant Park back in February - and over the past few weeks it became obvious to me that the three collections I saw were Althea's, Carol Hannah's and Irina's. So the outcome last night was definitely no surprise. I also have a feeling that the winner of Season 6 won't be a surprise either - my bet is Irina will win.

I am so sad that Project Runway was such a "snoozefest" this season. I only hope that Season 7 - which was filmed in NYC - will be more entertaining and provide plenty of material for snarky recaps.

Ronnie Kroell At Malan Breton's Show

Make Me A Supermodel hottie Ronnie Kroell modeled for Project Runway alumnus Malan Breton this week at Malan's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show. Doesn't Ronnie look HOT?!?

Thanks to Blogging Bravo for the heads-up - and visit Tom & Lorenzo if you would like to see detailed coverage of Malan Breton's show. I had the pleasure of meeting Malan at a Shear Genius event last year and he was an absolute doll - so I'm happy for his continued success.

White Meat Monday - NYC Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week runs from Sept. 10 to 17 here in NYC - and most of the "action" centers around the Bryant Park tents. Since all the movers and shakers in the fashion business end up concentrated in this one-block area, many others show up to promote their products and/or businesses.

For instance, this gentleman was spotted last week outside Bryant Park wearing a clear jacket made out of recycled water bottles. Unfortunately, he was also wearing underwear.

Jack Mackenroth Fingers Karl LagerFELT

Former Project Runway designer Jack Mackenroth blogged about Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week here in NYC for Logo last week. One of the cute things Jack did was carry around a "Karl Lagerfelt" finger puppet for various celebs to take pictures with. Here is Jack himself fingering Karl...

Model, total hottie, and former Daddy of the Day Chad White also got a finger up in there...

Christian "Mango" Siriano joined in on the fun...

But Nina Garcia decided not to stick a finger up in Karl Lagerfelt - she obviously didn't want to upset a Marie Claire advertiser...

See the whole post, with MANY more celebrity pics, HERE.

Project Runway Season Six - The Collections

My partner-in-crime at the Bryant Park Project Runway show, The Minx, has posted pics of all the looks in all three collections. But first, I just had to show you one more picture of crazy-ass Carmen Webber. The Minx took the pic above while she and I were chatting after the show.

OK - if you DON'T want to see the collections, then obviously don't click on the links below...

Fashion FAIL

Darling Dust Bunnies - I need to talk to you about former Project Runway Fashiontestant Carmen Webber - whom I saw at yesterday's Bryant Park show. Does everyone remember Carmen (like the opera) Webber (like the 80's General Hospital family) from Season 4?...

During her season, I gave Carmen a pass for acting like she was a member of the 80's girl-group Klymaxx...

I kept waiting for Carmen to bust out a couple verses of "Meeting in the Ladies Room" - but it never happened. Then I saw her yesterday, and I was taken aback...

What kind of Grace-Jones-Judy-Jetson-Flight-Attendant-of-the-Future hot tranny MESS is this??? It was more like "Meeting in the CRAZY Room"...

The Project Runway Season 6 Fashion Show

Bitches, I just want you to know what a fun time I had in the Bryant Park tents this morning at the Project Runway show. Here is a short and sweet recap...

I arrived at Bryant Park before the 9:00 am start time, and they herded us like cattle into the main tent. I spotted Season One winner Jay McCarroll immediately – he was dressed like Maude on an acid trip, so he was kind of hard to miss.

Waiting to get in near me was one of the interchangeable White Girls from last season – it took four different people looking directly at her for someone to finally remember her name – Jennifer Diederich (thanks T-Bone!). The one memorable thing about Jennifer is that she has very lovely teeth. See – who says I never have anything nice to say about the Fashiontestants?!?

I found my way to my seat, where I got to sit beside the fabulous Minx (she was also my dinner companion last night). On the other side of me was a lovely young woman named Morgan, who had actually heard of me before – and was a fan of my blog!! I must say, that was kind of cool. I kept asking her: “REALLY? You’ve heard of my blog?!?”. Dearest Morgan: it was a pleasure meeting you.

The Minx and I played the “Spot the Fashiontestants” game – which was pretty easy to do. Seen: Kara Janx, Stella!, Straight Kevin, Korto, JerHell, Suede, Stankley, Straight Joe, Steven Rosengard, Chris March, Malan, Wesley (although I didn’t see Daniel), Jack Mackenroth, Blayne, Christian (MANGO!!), Ricky (wearing a hat), and Carmen (like the opera) Webber (like the musical composer) – who was wearing a weird Grace Jones-esque outfit.

We were sitting directly behind many of the Season 5 Fashiontestants. In fact, I could have easily hit Stankley with my pen if I wanted to. She was dressed up, as always, like she was going to the prom in 1948. But Kenley smiled a lot and chatted with the others and seemed to be charming. It didn’t seem like anyone held any grudges toward her – except me and Tim Gunn, of course. Here is a picture I took of Kenley from my seat. WATCH YOUR BACK, GIRL!...

Then Heidi, Michael, Nina, and the Guest Judge – Suzy Menkes – entered. Suzy isn’t a household name, but she is the ultimate fashion insider – and the Fashion Editor of the International Herald Tribune. That’s Suzy on the left…

Heidi (wearing hot pink) introduced the Judges, thanked us for coming, and said a few words about this Project Runway Season 6 – which still hasn't aired because of the ongoing court battle. Then Heidi said those magic words: “Let’s start the show".

Three collections were shown. There were no designer introductions or appearances. This means that when the season finally airs – many of us will spend our time trying to match these three collections to three designers on the show.

You know me – I am NOT a fashion expert. So my opinions don’t mean squat – but here’s what I thought about the collections. If you don't want to hear anything about the fashions that were shown – stop reading now.

I thought he first collection (below) was the weakest. All the girls wore thick black headbands and hair extensions – and the clothes were rather one-note and boring. In fact, I thought this may have been a “decoy” collection – until I figured out there were no decoys this season.

The second collection (below) had a lot of variety – but seemed to include many elements from past Project Runway designers. I could see nods to Christian, Kenley and Rami. Even Andrae’s “mud puddle” dress was represented. To me, the collection was a little disjointed.

The last collection (below) seemed to be the strongest – and got the greatest audience response. It was edgy and fashion-forward. And kind of fierce.

Again, I don’t know crap about fashion – so please take my “reporting” with a grain of salt. Check Blogging Project Runway for eventual pictures of all the collections.

At the end, Tim Gunn came out and told that he had been backstage like a nervous father with his children – and thanked us all for coming. And with that, it was over and I headed to work.

Here are some other fuzzy pics I took with my camera:

Heidi Klum on the runway...

Señor Weepy – Ricky Lizalde. The hat was as big as he was. Notice Suede and his technicolor fauxhawk at the bottom of the pic...

JerHell and Korto...

Burnout Stella was that Ratbones with her? with her Brother...

Later I checked Getty Images, and found out former Daddy of the Day and Olympic gold medalist swimmer Ryan Lochte (below) attended the show!! Now there’s someone I would have liked to meet…

Again, thanks to my Guardian Angel for the ticket!!

Guess What I'm Doing Tomorrow...

I'll be with Tim, Heidi, Michael and Nina at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Project Runway show. Yes bitches, I'll be at Bryant Park tomorrow for the Project Runway Season 6 Finale!

Season 6 has finished filming in Los Angeles, and the customary Bryant Park Finale Show is going on as planned here in NYC - even though no Season 6 episodes have been aired yet. Bravo, Lifetime, NBC Universal, and Harvey Weinstein are still battling in court about when/where Season 6 will be shown, so this Finale fashion show I'll be attending tomorrow will be different that the previous ones. Specifically, we won't get to meet the designers in person - since it would reveal who actually made it through the season to the finals. We will simply get to see the clothes. Read more HERE.

Thanks to my Guardian Angels for making sure I got a ticket! I'll have more to report on Friday afternoon/evening.

Model Sightings

It's Fashion Week in NYC, and I saw this model - former Papi of the Day Julian on the street over the weekend. He was no doubt in between fashion events, and was wearing a shiny new pair of Timberlands - like the ones he's wearing above. I LOVE a Papi wearing his "Tims"...

Fashion Week Sightings

It's amazing what you see on the way to the Dollar Store. Today, the Best Friend and I took a walk to our favorite dollar store, Jack's. We walked past Bryant Park, where Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is in full swing. The Best Friend is a magazine fiend, so we hung out for a couple of minutes so he could score one of the free magazines (The Daily Front Row) that they print for each day of the shows. When we got to the main entrance, it became obvious that one of the MAJOR shows was about to start, because the paparazzi and onlookers were everywhere.

It turns out that the hullabaloo was for none other than Diane von Furstenberg! Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria attended the show (although we didn't see them), but we DID see Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter (seen below with Diane's husband Barry Diller):

And we also saw the GORGEOUS Rosario Dawson.

The funny thing about Rosario was that she walked right past us on the sidewalk across the street from the show, and none of the paparazzi noticed her. They were making a fuss over up-and-coming actress Kate Mara (below), and nobody saw Rosario before she ducked into the Bryant Park Hotel, which is where all the gift/swag bag suites are.

After about 2 minutes, Rosario must have decided to get to the show, so she walked out of the hotel and across the street. The paparazzi went CRAZY! I mean, come on guys, it's ROSARIO DAWSON, not Madonna! And, although drop-dead gorgeous - it was weird seeing her in a full-length evening gown at 4:00 in the afternoon.

You know, I really should get out more often...
