My dear friend Gerry and I met while working at McDonald's in State College, Pennsylvania (home of Penn State University). A lot has changed since then, including the birth of Gerry's adorable daughter Kenzie in May. But she and I will always, deep down, be McDonald's "Losers".
Happy Birthday G.B.!!
XOXOXO
FYI - They were trying to say "CLOSERS" - not "LOSERS". But some loser screwed up the sign. Gerry would want me to clarify that.

That is so funny! I thought they meant to have that on there, so I'm glad you explained it.
Love, Bernice
I thought they meant that too!!!
Hey honey, aint nuthin wrong with workin at McDonalds...it's a job and a pay check, which is more than I have!!
Thanks, David, for the happy birthday shout out on your blog. Great McDonald's pic, too - those old reader boards were always dropping letters! I am indeed a proud McDonald's "loser" (and a closer for many years), having dedicated 15 years (10 as a manager) to the company before getting my 'real' job. Sadly, since I quit over 10 years ago, I don't think a week has gone by that I haven't visited the Golden Arches as a customer...
Gerry -
As you know, I started as an "Opener" (didn't we call them "Muppets?) and never cared much for you Closers. That was until Sharon Elizabeth DelSignore Smith (that name just sent shivers down my spine) decided they needed a male manager to close on Saturday nights. So I too am a loser AND closer.
And I too don't miss an opportunity for a Big Mac with no pickle and extra cheese.
Happy Birthday honey.
XOXOXOXO
