My good friend from college, Gerry, is becoming a bit of a Facebook junkie. She recently posted some pictures from "back in the day" when we were both college students at Penn State and Managers at the McDonald's across from Campus. Yes Virginia, David didn't ALWAYS look like Santa Claus...
Actually, this first picture is from AFTER college when I first moved to NYC. This is Gerry and myself in my room in Brooklyn, getting ready to go clubbing. Notice the rolled-up sleeves of my t-shirt? Fierce.
Here is a picture of me and my McDonald's friends during a "bar tour" at Penn State. Was I wearing a striped shirt and plaid shorts - TOGETHER??? NOT fierce.
Gerry, Tammy, Frank, and myself. Even while thin, I mastered the art of standing behind someone while getting my picture taken - thus seeming even thinner.
And here I am folks, in my McDonald's Manager Uniform (with Gerry) - counting money with the safe wide open. Check out our sexy visors!!

GUUUUUURRRRRRRLLLLLLLL, I think that was the sweater that I paid $90 for - which was a fucking FORTUNE in the 80's!!! I got it at Vera's favorite store - The Young Men's Shop on Calder Way.

Ok, I just remembered to look at your blog for the photos, and the invariable spirited commentary. Your friend SHOULD be jealous that I knew you "way back when" 'cuz you WERE adorable. ;) Also, you should be VERY lucky that I didn't (and won't) post some of the other pics I have - like the end of the night from my farewell bar tour - remember that??? As for that black sweater, I remember it well but I would've guessed it was from the Gap or even - wait for it - Benetton. Forgot you shopped upscale, even back then. (The Young Men's Shop - LOL! Is that even still there?)

And you are correct, I owned many sweaters from the Gap and Benneton back in the day - but that one was my most expensive Young Men's Shop purchase ever. I have no idea if that store is still there or not - it's been years since I've been in State College.

Nope on both counts. The infamous Hardee's incident was well before I left State College, though it might've been after a night at the Brickhouse. (God, we seemed to get SOOOO drunk at that place! No wonder I called it "Brickhouse-bar-from-hell.") And for the record, I don't think I "tackled" you - I think we were both running and drunkenly fell into the bushes, immediately before you blurted out your big revelation. Good, good times...
I'm gonna scan the pics of the night I'm talking about and email them to you - the really "good" ones are at the end of the night, back at your place (the one you shared with dreamy Harold and Scott). Maybe that'll 'jog' a memory.
Shame on you for not visiting the alma mater more often! I've made it up there at least once a year since moving away. We should really get together up there one of these days, for old times sake. :)
