I'm not much of a tennis fan, but apparently Rafael Nadal's Wimbledon finals match vs. Roger Federer was a true battle. Congratulations to cutie Rafa for winning his first Wimbledon trophy, and ending Federer's five-year winning streak. Nadal is also the first man to win the French Open and Wimbledon in the same year since Bjorn Borg did so in 1980.

It was an incredible match, and the level of play just exceptional. Damn, that Federer just gets me all sweaty just watching him play. But he proved to be every bit as elegant and wonderful in defeat as he has been in victory.
It was so good to see Bjorn Borg again. This is the first time he's been at Wimbledon watching them play in 25 years, they said. I just loved watching him play and was upset when McEnroe broke his streak in 1981. He had so much class and was a champion. I didn't want him to quit when he did.
I thought Federer might break Borg's record but will stay tied with him so far. It really was quite a match and so close. McEnroe said it was the best he's seen in all his life.
Yes, he was, Howard. Federer has class.
awwww..he's kinda cute...and the hug! so sweet.
Joy, I had such a crush [OK, total lust] on Bjorn, and thought he looked great. He was also at the French Open, and I thought that lust was renewed. And he was also an amazing player, and total class.
I caught this at the laundromat, and my husband and I immediately took sides; He chose Federer while I rooted for Nadal (I'm contrary just to be contraary), but I got so into it that I didn't care who won...it was so exciting.
I was impressed with the awe that McEnroe had for the players...you could hear it in his voice that he was stunned by the great play. And he gets big points for cutting his interview with Federer short, because after the guy said "It hurts", he was on the verge of tears and McEnroe let him leave with his dignity.
Bjorn Borg is a little before my time, but boy did he age well!
